Interesting. However, it was a separate company, a joint venture. I don't think that company ever owned Norton. It was probably an attempt by Symantec to gain entry into the Chinese market. It didn't work out and Symantec sold their interest in the joint venture back to the company. They never sold Symantec to the Chinese.

Not True... Check google Symantek was in fact sold to a Chinese Company. PERIOD!!

I have been using AVG (free version) ever since Win 3 and am very satisfied.
It has from time to time detected and stopped virus (as it should) and I do from time to time venture into unknown sites.

I use bitdefender, and also run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware + once a week.

I've been running Norton 360 since circa 2010 when Win7 first came out. Came on the new machine I bought. Have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. No viruses or system problems. in fact, it runs in the back ground and doesn't slow my machine like the old versions did. Uses virtually no CPU on the meter.
