Yes this is one good thing about rural Arkansas. So many other states use buidling codes as a way to pump you for money.


Talk to your local ag extension office. They are very helpful.
Also soil tests are free in Arkansas. You pay for it with a tax on Fert. So by all means get some soil tests if your planning on growing anything.

Bermuda and fescue both tend to grow well in this area.
Fescue is a good choice if your soil is marginal.
Orchard grass works well in shaddy areas.

Did you do thinning or just remove the small brushy stuff? To get/keep grass I think you are may have to remove more trees.
