I have finished my pond project and turned a couple of acres of woods and pasture in to about a 3/4 acre pond and used the dirt to fill in the low areas around it. There was about 2 feet of nice topsoil and now i have spread one to two feet of clay on top of that topsoil so it will not be swamp anymore around my pond. I spread bahaia and horse pasture mix seed over everything. Now Im thinking about fertilization, what should I put. The rye in the pasture mix is growing fine after a couple of weeks but that is all I see comming up. Do I just need to spread some 8 8 8 or something on top or is there something special I should do to help my grass start growing.
thanks in advance

Let me understand this... you put 1-2-feet of clay on top of 2-feet of "nice" topsoil? I hope you have it properly graded or otherwise, you will have another pond... Sorry but I cannot help you with the choice of seed or fertilizer...

You maybe should have removed the topsoil, then placed the clay and replaced the topsoil?
