Bought a weight distributing hitch for my new trailer and, wouldn't you know, there's a 6 inch channel crossmember right where the tongue bracket needs to go. So, had to make a pair of brackets. Draw-tite offers bolt-on brackets, but I wanted to be able to remove them.

So, I made brackets from 3x3 angle and bar stock as shown in the attached pics. Looks like they should do the job fine.

I like your thinking on the quick remove design.
As long as your welding is up to par on the chain hooks it should work out great. Nice job!
Your warranty will be no good if something were to happen since your not using the "official" Draw-Tite brackets, but you already know that.
A guys gotta do what he can sometimes to make things work.

Yeah, it was either make my own or use the "official" Draw-tite bolt-on brackets, but I didn't want to be drilling or welding on my brand new trailer.

Here's what Draw-tite sells for the purpose:
