What is the "There may be more post after this" comment all about? in the alerts notification's

It just means that if, for example the notification was triggered by a post at 12:00, and it's now 12:20, there may have been more posts between 12:00 and 12:20 in the same thread that didn't trigger another notification because there was already one notification pending.
