None -yet. Until then FunBuggy (EZ-Go) will have to do!
Just wanted all my TBN friends to know that my first grandchild was born today! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Teagan was born in Allentown, PA. at 6:11 a.m. (est). She weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 22" long. Mother, father and baby are all doing fine. My son mentioned that she was a beautiful little girl, and that wasn't just because she was his (yeah, right! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif). He also mentioned that she had my hair. I didn't realize that babies could be born with grey hair! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Do you think that's what he meant??

Tom has to leave for his next duty assignment in Fallon, Nevada on the 21st, but his wife and the baby won't go out there until March 6th (we think). If it all works out the way we're planning, we'll be leaving to go out there on the 6th with the planned arrival on or about the 9th. Then we'd be able to spend about a week before we have to head back home.

I can't remember being this excited about something for a long time! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Steve! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, it's pretty hard talking to people with such a huge smile on my face! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Grandpa's doing just great!

I can recall not that many years ago thinking that I was too young to be a grandfather. But as time wore on, I found myself looking forward to it more and more. I guess maybe it's just a natural progression as a person gets older, because I certainly didn't consciously think about it. It just seemed to happen.

I'm not sure exactly how long it will be before we get any pictures. My son did mention that he did get some video when they took Teagan to weigh her and then on down to the nursery. But he didn't mention if he got any digital pictures. He'll be calling me back during my lunch hour because he needs some adresses and phone numbers of people he wants to contact. I'll be asking him then about pictures. If he didn't get any yet, I'll have his father-in-law get some for us and then he can e-mail them to me. If they can take a few minutes out of fussing over the baby, maybe they'll send me some tonight so I can get some posted. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I remember when my little girl was born which was the first grandchild on my side of the family. I didn't think anyone could have been more thrilled than me, but to see the smile on my dad's face was priceless (especially after raising 4 boys). My little girl is spoiled rotten and it is quite clear that she is pappy's girl. Of course I know that you wouldn't dream of spoiling your grand daughter would you???

Garry, congratulations on the new grand child. To help you out I have posted a picture of a baby. Most babies look very similar, so I think this should give you the general idea /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Congratulations Garry,
Kids are one of the very best things in life. They are defiantly one of the things that makes it worth living.

Congratulations on your new grandchild! When she gets about two years old the fun really begins! I am currently looking for a small drum set for my granddaughter. Her mom (whom I love dearly) was quite a pill, so its payback time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif!

Everyone else is offering their congratulations, so I guess I'll just offer my sympathy. That granddaughter is quite likely to cut into your golfing time. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Speaking of drums, my wife's parents got my 1 year old boy one for Christmas. It's just the playset type. He has beat on those drums so much and his big sis helps him quite a bit that when I get home from work and want to watch TV, I go straight to the bedroom to hear!!!!!! It will definitely be a payback by getting the drum set. I couldn't take it anymore so the drum set is currently hid taking a well deserved break!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Contrats Gary. Be careful with all the euphoria. You need to be somewhere safe. Go straight to a nice tractor dealership and just buy one or two. Do It! Blame it on the baby...

Jerry, did you relly mean that kids are defiant??

That's the same set of specifications we got with our first daughter. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Congratulaions to all. Go out and by something big!!! A tractor would be nice. Just think of the playground you need to build now!!!!!! Holes to be dug, mulch to move in and lumber to carry!!!!
Take care!!

Steve,

Long before today, I had warned my son and daughter-in-law that I was invoking a grandparents right to spoil the grandchild as much as I wanted.

But I also quickly added that it was going to be the GOOD kind of spoiling. I told them that I expect to spoil her with so much love, that when they ask her where she'd like to go, she says without hesitation, "To grandpa Garry's and Grandma Jennys' house, because they do things with me!" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( Most babies look very similar, so I think this should give you the general idea )

Jerry,

Thanks for the reminder! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif It's been awhile. Actually, Tom told me that Teagan never even made a whimper the entire time they were man handling her. I warned him that she might be saving it all up until later. I also reminded him that was one of the good things about being a grandparent - we can give them back to their parents if they're not behaving.

But my little grandaughter would NEVER misbehave anyway, right? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( Kids are one of the very best things in life. )

Jerry,

You're absolutely right! But I have a feeling that grand kids might just be one of the most FUN things in life, along with being one of the best things! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

( Her mom (whom I love dearly) was quite a pill, so its payback time )

Dozernut,

I know what you mean. My son certainly made our life "interesting" when he was a teenager. But I guess just hearing him say things like, "Boy, how did you and Mom ever put up with me?" or "Now I see what you were trying to teach me." or just simply, "I'm really sorry for how I treated you guys back then." is more than enough to make up for payback. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( That granddaughter is quite likely to cut into your golfing time. )

Bird,

You're probably right. And that'll be one of the few things that I will allow to cut into my golf time! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that it may not happen as often as I'd like. What with Tom being in the Navy, we have a feeling that we're not going to be seeing them nearly as often as we'd like. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

( Go straight to a nice tractor dealership and just buy one or two. )

Mike,

That's a not a bad idea. Heck, I've tried just about everything else anyway. Guess it couldn't hurt to try this one too! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks Gary! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's not what I'm going to call myself as a grandparent. It's what my grandaughter will call me.

Although I must admit I believe that I would prefer Grandpa, I guess I've reached the point where it really doesn't matter what she calls me. If whatever term she ends up using makes her relate to me, and it's used because she cares about me, I'll be happy with whatever she calls me.

Gee, that sounds kind of Grandpa-ish , doesn't it? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats on the new member to your family. My new son....now 2 weeks old.....has my dad jumping to get down here. He wants to wait for better weather before he makes the drive. He will probably be driving by you......coming from Antigo WI. He likes to go down though Madison and into Rockford Illinois rather than though Chicago. He hates the traffic. Congrats again!

Yup. He'll be going right by Janesville. Tell him to stick his arm out the window and wave. We might just see him! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
