Thanks Ron and Mike. My mind couldn't get away from Power Brakes and that was obviousley no on my B6100. Power beyond, I'll write that down so I won't forget it, until I misplace my notebook.

You did a nice job on the planning.

Although you should use a bigger piece of Metal to fit it inside and also welded all.

Wish I own that, LOL

Thanks. It's been 2 and a half years and that foot rest still is very strong so I'm not concerned about it. The piece of metal underneath is thicker than it looks. Good to have power steering. As for owning it, keep a watch and don't be afraid to ask someone if something is for sale will make good deals fall in your lap. This little Kubota was extremely cheap because it needed electrical and hydraulic work, both easy fixes. It just sat in the previous owners yard for awhile, he bought another tractor. I t has paid for itself many times over.

Hi guys, just finished adding power steering to my B. Running it off the PB of the FEL. I removed the hose that went from the PB back to the block which sends it to the 3PH. I then put the power steering setup inline. The only issue I noticed is that when using full loader, the loader gets all the pressure but when messing around it did not seem to be an issue. This setup was under $400 counting the 2 - 1/4" hoses I got from TSC. I may still add a couple 90 degree fittings to get the hoses where I want them on the cylinder side. Bostonrats and I got our cylinders together to try and get the best price. I can't complain at all with it, and it's well worth adding. You can see Bostonrats info hear: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/138014-power-steering-90-minutes.html Attached is some pics, the best place to mount it was on the step which I reinforced. It's a pretty tight spot.

Hi Mike,
I am new to this forum and new to being a kubota owner. I recently bought a 1990 or so B7100 HST with 1084 hours with the belly mower and SMC Q64 front loader. This tractor replaced my Gravely 24 G which I sold and I still regret selling and it had a front loader and power steering that worked real nice. I would like to add power steering to my B7100 and I found your post but it is like 5 years later and I was wondering if the parts you bought for your 6100 to do the steering kit are still available?
Hope your well and thanks already for the info. you posted. I really like the job you did on yours.
John

Welcome to TBN John. I like the power steering add-on but this unit seems to be hard to get now. Seems the guy I got it from lost interest in building them. A friend of mine bought one at the same time, his thread is below and has the latest info. Don't bother asking him questions though, he hasn't been on this site in years. BTW, there are at least 2 other b6100/b7100 power steering builds on this site and they all go about it differently.

Thanks for the reply Mike after such a long time. Thanks for the welcome also.
I guess I will continue my search. Seems like everyone has done these mods like 8-10 years ago. Is your cylinder a combined part with a actuator attached. In other words how do the hydraulics get triggered for pressure when you turn the wheel? Do you remember what brand it is?
Thanks again,
John

The guy I bought the unit from had some of the parts made. The valve bolts to a metal block that has holes in it that let the fluid flow to metal pipes that are welded to the block and then to the cylinder. I know of no off the shelf parts on this, no labels whatsoever. What I did was cut the arm that went from the steering box to the steering arm on the axle. I then attached the cylinder to the arm and mounted the other end to the frame. The steering box then pushes/pulls on the shortened rod that attaches to the control valve. Turn the wheel to the left and it pulls the valve out making the piston go out. Turn the wheel to the right and it pushes the valve in making the piston retract. What I like about this setup is when the cylinder moves so does the steering wheel like if you didn't have the cylinder in place. Also, I can steer this setup even if the tractor is not running or I lose hydraulics.

thanks again Mike,
Looks like a setup I would like to use on my b7100.
I did call Vern at tractor power steering but no answer or call back yet so I will keep looking.
I am also looking at orbit valves, torque generators and forklift columns too.
