Snowblower off, boxblade on. Anyone know how to access the gearbox on an inverted MK Martin snoblower btw?

If the model you have has a COMER gearbox mounted directly behind the impeller
the drain and fill plugs should be easily accessed.
The rest is simply removing the guards to check the cross shaft,
grease the bearings and check the tension on the roller chain.

It's been ten plus years since I had a blower. I kept it in one of my carport stalls - sitting up on 6x6 timbers. Oil the chain, check the chain tension, grease the zerks, make sure the auger spins freely, top off the gearbox oil, if necessary. I never worried about touch up paint. Any rust will be ground right off with the first use.

With U on that!
Here near Montreal I remember snow sleds downtown main streets, CAT d7 cleaning my suburban street and sledding down a side street on top of snow drifts only to later realize I had sledded over car roof tops, that's how much snow we got.
Montreal was closed down for 3 days!

Are you talking about the 'century storm' of 1971?

Better NOT be much more snow here. Should be more like rain. All winter long the greatest accumulation was 5". And it melted off in three or four days.

Hey, tomorrow - Sat - the first day of spring.

Glad I didn't unhook anything yet, 8 to 10 inches of sleet & snow coming to me on thursday with wind meaning I'll have 2ft or more in places in places.

On that same Thursday, they're forecasting 5-10cm (2-4") here. If it's more and sticks to the ground, I'm gonna do like I would do for a first fall snow, pack it or plow it with the ATV. Road, as well as land as been snow free for at least a week now but my ATV still has its plow on. Snow has melted away quite early this year.
