That's got a lot of awesome features.....while it works. What happens when that $100 sensor that measures the GPM (which really doesn't mean anything) going to an accessory, dies in the middle of planting. When one of the three steering systems has a faulty output and disables the complete tractor in the middles of a field and the tech is a day away.

I love big powerful tractors. I'll never own one but enjoy looking at em none the less. Neat to see all the things they thought of to make it a little easier for the operators.

I've never seen a Fendt in person, but from everything I've read, they are about as good a brand as there is.

Wheat Farmers around here run a couple of really big tractors. The terrain is hilly and I never mind listening to the big engines lean into the load while discing uphill(y)

Even more impressive in person. My sister and I went to see the facility when I visited her and the custom harvest crew she worked for. Havre Montana. That’s my broken down bike in the back of the pickup. Broke down in ND. Hell of a ride from PA to MT. Tractor was so impressive that I have the complete spec page printed out in the photo album.

Our local fall fair has had a couple there the last couple years, they do look well made but a lot of electronics. You can run the 3pt up and down from the back, but with rubber covered buttons... I guess they all are like this now, but seems like you better park them indoors out of the weather. 10-15-20 years and what happens to all that stuff when the rubber cracks and water gets in? I think Fendt is making progress here because they will share diagnostic info easily.
I like my Kioti, with a rear 3pt lever attached to the lever beside the seat...

I would think most farmers are the type to fix their own stuff. there must be a market for tractors with an available copy of the service manual. diagnostics tools available for a reasonable price and a tech support line staffed with people that know their product. so that you can fix your own stuff. because you can't do anything with a broken down machine so you usually have time to fix it. I guess I am asking for too much.

re: fixing stuff yourself.
In the 1980's my neighbor had his own auto repair shop at his house.
One day a Ford rep he knew was there. They were discussing computers in vehicles. The Ford rep said advanced electronics in our vehicles are working towards our goal of all Ford repairs must be performed at an authorized Ford repair service center.

Guess what, we're getting closer to that today; now with tractors.

One of the fun shows I like to watch on YouTube is the Top Shops on Successful Farming. What amazes me is how much effort is put into fixing and maintaining the equipment by the owners of the farm in their shops. Some of them have better shops then most Dealerships!!!!

Mostly they are all John Deere tractors. It would be fun to see one with a bunch of Fendt's in there.

I believe what your intended use determines what you consider a tractor.

If doing hard heavy pulling all day the Big Bud is built for doing this since the weight is built into the tractor.

If light to medium pulling and infinite speed with all types of electrical equipment then Fendt is your choice.

Pretty much all of the higher HP true ag tractors are getting more and more electronic controls while being built lighter weight wise. Part of this higher speed tillage requires less weight per HP and part is fuel economy factory rating since takes less fuel to 20,000 lbs than it does 30,000 lbs.

Believe this one has a lot of pulling power
  • The top model in the Fendt 1100 Vario MT series
  • Rated to produce 634 horsepower
  • Has a 16.2 liter engine that provides 673 horsepower
  • Has a tracked drive system with a suspension chassis

Anything will get stuck in the right circumstance. Nothing is immune.
I agree; in this case there was no excuse for burying it that deep.
The old adage applies, when you find yourself in a hole_ stop digging.
