kubota b 7610
Juust got thru the post-depression post. haad my mind made up on a 7610. now I'm not sure. found this forum a few weeks ago and have been studying all the info since. I haven't had a tractor since the 8n died 10 years ago . Got 2acres of hardpan to land scape. wife says I can't move till she dies or I die.
So I said I need some machinery to fix this place up. she said do what you need to, up to a point.
I want to move dirt (hardpan), plant trees, fence, level, and create. what do you forumists think? Am I headed in the right direction?
Prices are sure different here than back east. And I' ve run into those same lackluster dealers here. don"t want to deal much. thanks for your advice and help! :
best deal: 7610,fel, phd, box scraper , $16k
this is my first post so forgive my newness.

Get the 7610 and have a blast and never look back. It is all you will need and more. J

I'm thinking you need more weight than a B7610 for the "soil" you describe. I don't see any mowing on your list of chores. The B7610/7510 is where I started looking too. If you want to stay with Kubota, then look at the L series. The L2800 does not have live PTO, which is a big strike against it, so that puts the L3400 as the best candidate.

Get the B7610. It has a lot more power than I thought that it should.

I just bought mine and paid $15000 for FEL, Box Blade, MMM.

Hope that helps.

With only two acres to deal with the L series might be a little big...although I must admit there was a time recently when I thought I might like to have one rather than my B2910. Mainly because I like the BH90 backhoe better than what I have, I guess...

I bet the 7610 will do what you want. I have some shale to deal with and even with the toothbar, the loader does not do well. Rip it up with the box with the scarifiers down and then scoop it up with the front bucket. A backhoe helps sometimes. like recently when I put some fence posts in the bank above my pond, and it was all shale and my post hole digger just rand down the edge because it could not bite in.

If you had the money to go for the bigger tractor, I still think it would be better spent on a smaller one like the 7610, with the difference used towards a backhoe for the 7610.

As a matter of fact, since you are dealing with a relatively small piece of property, like I have, I would seriously consider a BX23. You cannot imagine how useful a backhoe is. And it could serve as a mower later if you wanted it to. As could the 7610 or course.

Now I would not go for the BX23 if I could afford the 7610 with a backhoe, because extra loader capacity means something to me personally. But everything is a trade off and for landscaping/digging type work, a backhoe is a great tool. I would myself give up a little loader capacity if I got a backhoe in return.

Almost feel like I've started rampling here...but I did not realize how much I liked having a backhoe until I got one.

Knowing what I know now (just 2 years experience though) if I had to have only one tractor it would be something like the B7500 TLB, and if I could not afford the backhoe to go on it, then I probably would step all the way down to the BX23.

Fortunately SWMBO permits me to two tractors... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...plus the old garden tractor...plus who knows what the future will bring? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I agree about the BH, but as for the size, I just looked at the specs again: The L is really not much bigger than the B7610 (actually it is shorter and wider), it just weighs a lot more. The B7610 certainly has enough power. However, regardless of power, the only force you can exert downward is that which is provided by ol' gravity. This comes into play when dragging a BB too, as the traction you have is limited entirely by the weight.

I guess as soon as I see an "L-anything," sugar plums and L3130s start dancing in my head... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ... along with 3430s and 3830... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I forgot there are some L series that are not as big as the L3x30s...

WELCOME TO THE FORUM: the 7610 should do what you need but the l series would be a little beefier, althogh something that size mught be a little much for 2 acres. have u tried them out?

I LOOKED AT THE l3400 but it looks like it would take half my property to turn around.
Went to the dealer today and rode around on the 7610. pretty nifty . says he will match other dealers price of $16100 out the door. fel,bb,phd. what do you think?
also has a b2410 for 1k more. any reason to consider this? I don't see anything in the specs that makes a difference.
thanks again.

being new, I was wondering how the dealers on the site can sell the tractor packages so cheap. I asked the dealer if kubota has "west coast" prices and he said no but his service should be worth something. also said 50hr. cost $ 200 plus delivery.
just wondering
