I requested it be installed. I am afraid that not having one is going to be an issue as it will be outside in sub-zero weather all winter. Looking at possibly adding a fuel filter heater as well. I will call them today to make sure they use an appropriate loc-tite when it is installed. Thanks again for the information!!!

First I’ve heard about the NX series having heaters blown out, where did you find that info? If it was on here someplace I must have missed it, I’d be interested in more info, been thinking of installing one on my NX.

OK, just beware the risk of blow-out is HIGH. I would suggest NOT ever using the block heater- doesn't mean it won't still blow-out. AND what Kioti Dave said on the prior page- instead add a heating pad from Kats heaters. This way you heat the crankcase oil which is what is most important to flow easily in extreme temps.
Good luck, report back any problems, and pics on your new machine with griz hyde seat cover! :)

I will be sure to pay close attention to it. May even look at fabricating a retaining plate for security. Unfortunately I wont get to see the machine until I get home in late May. The Kats heater is something I was looking into as well.

If you're referring to my earlier post, I went through the reports of blown out block heater, and did not locate any so far, designated as NX's, all I found were RX's. Sorry if I was in error about NX's being grouped.

I thought the one where the block heater blew out, that was OFF warranty, and had low hours was an NX. Rechecking, turns out it was a RX.

If anyone knows about NX's also having blown out block heaters please bring it to our attention.

Thanks,

CM

BTW, you may find a oil pan pad heater to be as good or better- no chance of blow-out and heating the oil is probably more effective in protecting your engine 's overall cold weather wear. Try Kat's or Katz brand...

Is the cab seat different than the open station? My open vinyl cover seems pretty tough so far & wipes clean with a damp cloth even if I leave it outside for a month. But if cab is cloth or something you wouldn't want to plop a snow-covered butt onto it, a cover makes sense.

Yes the cab models have a tan colored cloth seat. So just trying to find something to help protect the investment. I may have an upholstery shop make one out of either a neoprene material of the cover craft material of my truck seat covers. Same as the carhartt duck fabric. Sheds water and resists stains very well. Still on the fence

Fancy :)

I'm sure it would be easy to find something - even a traditional seat cover for a side chair with elastic around the bottom. Not a custom tailored fit, but probably inexpensive & functional.

There are no seat covers for our Kiotis.
For the entrepreneur here is a opportunity.
My plan is to order the camo w/orange background material and have a local shop make me one.
Dealer said he'd take one as well. So maybe after my last fence clear out and dirt work.
But you'll have to settle for a funky big box auto store stuff just for a slip cover. JD and Kubota both have covers to fit their machines. I think even MF has them as well, IIRC.

Congrats on the new machine as well.

Sorry to say eric, this is not a result of less competent tech's installing these block heaters, based on the number of recent fails in states all across the country. Maybe read the entire thread(s) before jumping in with fake misleading news, that helps no one.
From the most recent instance in Montana, the OP tells us what the field service tech told him:

"RE:RX7320 problems @7 hrs on the meter
The mechanic showed up and put the block heater back in. It had red locktite applied to the threaded adapter which was then tapped into the frost plug hole with a hammer and socket. He said that this did not used to be a problem but there have been several of these coming out lately. His thought was that the insert that was tapped into the freeze plug hole was being manufactured differently in the last 6 months and does not have as tight of a press fit as it should."

The block heaters blowing out of the block has happened on RX and (POSSIBLY some NX series, though I can't currently find a link to a thread about that model also having failures, at this moment). At least one case of valve train failure and engine destroyed, low hours, but off warranty. Another is currently waiting on an oil analysis to determine the damage at 7 hours on clock, brand new tractor, (cited above). These are not likely improper installs, though final determination is still out at this point.

I did read the thread. The RXs use a totally different engine. The NXs use a Doosan 1.8L. No need to spread fear among the masses.
