NX4510 and NX5010 pricing and review

Originally, I was offered the NX6010 at $32,900 before options, but because I waited to close on the new RE before ordering the machine, my dealer sold that very machine to another guy who put money down on it. When I finally did order the machine, after explaining things, and some back and forth, I agreed to pay $33,900 in order to subsidize the guy with money down on the machine I wanted (the same NX6010 in the video I made) to buy a different, smaller tractor at a $1,000 off to sweeten the other guy's deal and provide him motivation. I also agreed to pay for the tractor with tax immediately and do the options as a second bill in order to help the dealer handle his flooring.

In my line of work, this is all part of the normal horse trading but I wish the dealer had done a better job of communicating on my first visit that he really had dropped his price down in the first place as the walk-away is part of my normal haggle process anyway.

I expect right now you'd be able to get a NX6010 with a loader and the tiny, little bucket they come with for around $35,500--which is to say that if you trade, arrange to keep your Massey bucket and give them the standard Kioti bucket under the pretense that the Kioti bucket has fresh paint.

Anyway, to my eye, your Massey is prettier than any of the Kioti and my overall impression of their chassis is that it is better than the Kioti. I just happened to like the Kioti cab layout better and deep discount Kioti offers over the other marques.

Thanks for that. I agree with you on the Massey, but the lure of 60 HP HST is calling to me. I find that occasionally when stump grinding, I could really use the extra PTO power. The Kioti loader is also rated at about 200lbs more than mine (albeit a tad lower) ... though I'd really like to see a lift-off between the two because I'm fairly impressed with this loader. Moved around 80 yards of moist topsoil yesterday and graded ... it in about 4 hours. Then lifted 40 roll (2'x5') sod pallets without ballast flawlessly. Today cleared about 800 sq/ft of scrub trees with a digging tooth bucket ... anyhow, she works hard, it's just that extra HP thing for a good price, it's calling to me lol

My conjecture is that Kioti has a high breakout force rating because their bucket has a short bottom, moving the measuring point of force closer to the pins while Massey's breakout force is relatively low because they have a longer bucket that effectively increases the lever and lowers their breakout force rating. Anyway, the bucket size is one standout between Massey and everybody else: Massey's standard bucket in person looks heavier duty and bigger even though it is the same width as others.

Another problem with all of the new 60 hp machines (the entire MF1700 series and NX series for that matter near as I know) is that nobody has puzzled out top and tilt kits yet and I'd like to just throw money at the problem and bolt something on than horse around thinking about it.

I'm hoping another NX owner will be able to share with me where to go or what get for a clean top and tilt kit.

The parent company of Kioti is very aggressive in trying to dominate the CUT market and is currently selling in North America second only to Kubota and is outselling everybody else.

Resale should increase as more Kioti dealers come online and more tractors get sold--exactly what happened to Kubota as it grew in market share and brand recognition.

I have a slipping disk in my neck and I'm fused from my S1 to my lower L4. To top it off, my L3/L4 is blown. Thus the ability to look backward without as much twisting and control layout without bending forward took precedence. As I noted in that Kioti video I made, I was able to sit sideways more than other tractors and still have throttle and PTO controls handy on the right side.

Keeping in mind that the only Deere I was able to look at was a 4720, not their new 4066R, with the exception of the vent design, Kubota had the best cab fit and finish. However, the Kubota seat gave me instant back pain which is why my (if you've watched it) L6060 Kubota impression video is so short. The Massey MF1700 series had the best side windows in that they really opened up wide, and I like that. Everybody else has the old clam-style side windows (think rear window mini-van), and I do not like that. The Deere and Massey put the throttle and PTO to the right of the steering wheel, which required me to bend forward to reach them, and in consideration of my back issues, that is a ding against them.

The Massey did not have any obvious switch blanks for adding extra switches for whatever. I have a tendency to add electrical stuff, and Kioti has a pile of switch blanks on the right side B pillar as well as on the top of the right-hand bulkhead.

A really cool feature Kubota offers on their L6060 is a trigger on their loader joystick that revs up the engine for more power and faster hydros. This is cool when you think about how a loader will be used with an electronic HST. Everybody will flip the things into "car mode" so that the engine revs up and down with the floor pedals. In practice, an operator piles into a pile of whatever with the bucket, then lets off the forward pedal, and revs drop. But the operator still needs power to lift the load. On the Kubota, the operator hits the trigger on the loader joystick to rev the engine without actuating the HST. Very cool. After pouring over the wiring diagrams and ECU functions, I think I can replicate that same idea on Kioti's NX series without frying the ECU or triggering any faults but that will take me time and could require me to build a custom little circuit board.

Anyway, Kioti got the nod for cab layout.

What I do know is that I'll need to wait out at least two rounds of optional parts ordering because the dealer doesn't know how to add the third spool valve even though there is a mount for a third cable lever in the cab. As a result, the dealer ordered one 1st spool valve and one 2nd non-detent spool valves and wants to look at them to see if either could be turned into a 3rd spool valve.

I'm at their mercy on this but if I can, I'd like to get a detent style 3rd valve incase i hook up to something that requires continuous flow.

I felt 3 positions in the L6060 at Lano Equipment, but the middle position didn't flip on with the door opening.

Could just be a bad door switch or somehow turned off in software, I dunno.

That's a bummer....you'd think someone at corporate would be able to answer that in seconds! Not a bad idea to have one with detent if you're going with 3 from the start.

I'm not pestering. The dealer is very accommodating and as it is, I'm studying for a state real estate broker test anyway.
