NX5510 radio plug?

I went to Best Buy this past summer and there they told me they had nothing.

Three Best Buy executives live in my city house neighborhood. Sigh.

From Amazon I ordered the 70-7712 kit as well as the 70-7713 kit because the 13 kit looks like it may have the RCA wires on it already.

Cool! Let us know what you find. Haven't you already installed your radio/player though?

Received both kits. The plugs look identical, but the -13 kit's plug is ever-so-slightly larger.

My tractor is in a pole barn near Twin Lakes, and so it'll be some time before I can mess with the radio again.

I also ordered in larger 13mm ferrites in my on-going radio interference with cheap, china LEDs throwing off emf and messing up the radio reception.

My radio installation was not done with stereo retrofitted radio and who needs that in a diesel powered tractor type vehicle anyway. My NEW CK2510 came with A Kioti FIELD cab and what I thought was prewired audio speakers in the cab. Not so and I don't even think it is prewired for speakers. The speakers turned out to be just the cosmetic trim or outside trim pieces. No problem as all I did wAS to slide in a couple of new wires for speakers ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT REar of cab.

I think the easiest solution is to just clip off the cab wiring plug and connect up to the radio wires (all marked) with double ended tubular wire crimped connectors. I should have this job done tomorrow so I will report back. I'll get a pair of speakers in the morning and go to work.

I think the connections would actually be more secure, less susceptible to corrosion, and easier to change later without cutting the wires if you just strip the ends, twist the stranded wires together, screw on small wire nuts, then wrap each nut with vinyl electrical tape. I've never been a fan of the tubular crimp connectors for severe service applications. :2cents:

Thanks Threepoint;

The only bad thing about both of our versions is that we have a big job ahead if we ever have to pull the radio. After I penned my post it occurred to me I better provide a better way to allow for a unhook rather then a butcher job if I have to hack those connections in order to remove the radio.

My solution was to use those little slide in connectors (one small spade which slides into a female conjnector).
glad I made this last minute change the slide in connectors are gooing to work fine I believe..

To each his own. ;) My Pyle marine aftermarket radio (see my post #14) was an easy install, cost $46, and has built-in NOAA weather bands and a USB port. Good sound quality, with zero electrical or other interference. So far so good.

Congratulations on your new NX5510, BTW!

Few reasons. Out here in the boondocks there are few radio stations and who plays CD's any more. I need something to hook my iPod and iPhone up to.
My radio and wiring harness cost less than $100, took less than an hour to install, plugged right in and has more options than the factory radio. Leaves me $120 to spend on something else.
I don't need a weather band since my phone has weather alerts but is a nice option for those that need or want it.
The guys that are having interference issues are the ones that replaced their factory lights with LED's.

The factory radio has sub and 3.5 port to plug your phone in!! So you link it that way and it links Bluetooth
It also has a memory card slot to play saved music books etc

AnyOne know if there is a wiring harness available that will plug into a factory kioti one? I'm just about ready to install the new stereo and hate to cut the factory plug off the harness if I don't have to.

Would that be on a dealer installed cab you are talking about, or maybe one from the factory? I just stuck a radio in my dealer installed cab for my new CK2510. I gave up on the store bought plug because after a search i failed to find one. I ended up taking the plug off with cutters. I would say whatever you do do not hardwire that radio in your cab. put those little individual slide connectors in because you will need to get tha radio out at some point for sure. btw ebay has hidden radio antennaes for under $4,00 that work fine and slide right up in that compartment. Also, you will need some 4" speakers from Napa or somewhere because those nice things that seem to look like a speaker in that dealer cab are covers only.

I installed the radio almost two months ago, I just cut the plug off and connected the new radios plug to the wires. Mine came factory with the antenna and speakers already mounted and wired to the harness.

Quick question for anyone who installed a radio in their NX tractor. I installed a radio in my NX6010 yesterday, a Pyle bluetooth model from Amazon. Everything works fine, the only concern I have is that the radio functions fully even with the key off, and the clock stays on when the radio is off. I was surprised that the tractor's radio power wire is not keyed power, is this normal? I did hook up the radio's yellow "memory" wire to the constant power wire on the tractor, I suppose that could be why the clock stays on with the radio off, I'm just not sure how that will work for battery drain.

Mine turns on and off with the key , are you sure your turning the key all the way off and not leaving it in the accessory position, the radio will stay on if so.

The tractor radio wiring should have 2 hot leads. One with power all the time to retain memories and the clock function and one with power only on with the key switch. The radio should also show this on the wiring diagram.

Stupid me, the key was on ACC position. Works as expected in the OFF position.
