Good luck with your decision. Sounds like you did a good job of weighing all the different opinions you got. Of course, we'd each like to see you in our favorite color, but I'm sure you'll be happy.

I think you're making a good decision. And I don't care what color you buy! I've always wanted a yellow tractor. But so far it has been the "other orange" for me.

I will echo what others have said... get a smaller lighter dedicated mower for your nice lawn (if you are expecting one). R4s on the tractor... if you need that much power you will welcome the traction along with the weight. I started out thinking my BX was going to be my mowing answer. I ended up with a Zero Turn as well.

So after 25 pages i think i am going to purchase a Massey Furgoson 1734e. Turf tires quixk attach bucket and a rear 60 inch finish mower.

Grapple will be a future purchase.

This i will not out grow for all of m future needs whatever may come up. Plenty of ground clearance and the underbody is protected. It does have a dpf filter but the desler told me its rated life is 3500 hrs. 5000 dollars to change tho! By the time inhit thoes hrs ill ne 60 years old.

The scut are just way to small and for a couple thousand more im getting a machine thats just overall 10 times better in eveyy area except getting into smaller areas and lighter.

Not finalized but gonna make my desicion soon.

So Nikko,

Tell us the details: what will be the price? How come a 60 inch rear finish mower?
Will you user a lawn mower of the finish mower for geass cutting the lawn portion?
What will you use to split wood?
The 1734e there was a 1726e also as I recall . . what was the advantage of the 1734e that moved younto that choice over the 1726e ?

Etc. Etc.. obviously you have a solution in your mind after seeing something today . . what triggered the solution idea?

I'm happy to see Nikko go with a rear finish mower over the mid mount because if (when) he decides to get a zero turn, a 60" rear finish mower is probably the easiest size and style of finish mower to sell.

Given that he is getting turf tires, he must be using the rear finish mower for the lawn. I second those (or is it 3rd, 4th, 5th???) who say get R4's and a dedicated mower and skip on the 60" rear finish mower.

I was looking at the specs on the 1726e and the 1734e and they look like the same tractor except that the fuel is turned up more on the 1734e and it requires extra emissions stuff. Makes me wonder if it's worth it over the 1726e. I'd love to see both on a dyno and see what the real difference is. $5000 at 3500 hours! That's like a total transmission replacement! I wonder how that will affect resale?

10 horsepower difference between the 2 machines, small price difference tho. I priced out the mahindra max 24, the yanmar 424, john deere 1025r and 2025r. The messay great warranty, price is very good alot of machine for the money. Only negative would be no mid mount mower option, not used to a rear mower but i will get used to it. Dealer is a little far (75 miles), but their is no massey dealer that is local. the others machines i tested only had only 2 hydro speeds, the massey has 3.

My original buget was 15,000. Now im at 20,000. That was my max i told myself jumping up to something bigger. This machine is too big for me right now as its such a hug difference over my small d125. But with time i will grow with it. Countless new projects i see coming :). The dealer which is a nice sized but not as big as the john deere dealer had zero tractors in the service shop. Tons of riding mowers, snowblowers, chainsaws etc being fixed tho. The john deere dealer had at least 20-30 compact to bigger machines inside being worked on. I walked into all the service areas and into the garage bays to see the style and tools of everything.

Im happy on what i saw, on how it drove and going back to get a full how disconnect everything. Even turtle mode with rpms full up the tractor had good speed. Propable will leave it their until i get a hand of it.

Well by then im sure the price will be cheaper, maybe the parts will be less expensive. Have you seen the dyno charts to see the air fuel ratios, id love to see them. Rear finish mower is the only option they have and cant aviod the extra emmissions until warranty is over :).

Cutting with a rear finish mower isn't bad as long as things are spaced fairly decent. I for one will NOT go back to a mid mount on any tractor again. I can cut faster get just as close to things and cut under trees better than I could with a mid mount and connecting and disconnecting it is much better than any mid mount I have ever used.

Congrats on finally making a decision and unlike others I don't care what brand you buy as long as it works for you and your happy with the price. Good luck with the new machine!

You can tighten up the top link and then lift up the finish mower leaving the ground clearance unaffected. A MMM limits the ground clearance to a few inches. Another plus to the finish mower is a much higher resale value over the MMM.

So when do you get it home?

and we need pictures :D

Congrats on the new Massey

I am happy that you went up a size- that extra fel lifting power will come in handy over the years and the 3 range hydro -imo

The # of jobs you will find to do with the new machine will multiply

Great choice of tractor
