It sounds like his neighborhood is all manicured yards and hired landscaper done activity. And log piles and wood piles and chain saws . . how accepting is that going to be?
That could be a problem. My 327 XP chainsaw is 119 decibels which is louder than the peak noise level of a 22 lr fired in a rifle. The eye sore of piles of wood is a whole problem.

Lol i get the demand for the hydro tranny and will def skip the manual.. I was not being specific with total time for wood splitting. I habe a very efficient wood stove a burn around 4-5 cords of wood for a 3,000 square foot house. I burn 24/7 in the winter. Usually refuel every 18-50hrs Depending on wood that goes in and how hot i put the stove at.

My lawn and wood pile is pretty clean and that being said Dont realy care what my neighbors say im paying taxes for my property not them. Hence also wanting to clear the back part of the property so can move the wood a little more out of site.

My wife is yelling at me know cause she thinks its crazy to spend so much money on a scut. But also understand that we need one.

So a hydro 4wd for sure. Tires i will see whats gonna be good for the lawn and also traction. Front loader, mower are a must now. Other attachmemts will be put on the back burner.

So um whats the best sub compact tractor :)

If you don't want another gas Engine around, and having to play with the carburetor issues, and fuel stabilizer, and all that… Simply get an electric splitter. I have one that runs on 110 V, and it works great on all but the very biggest of logs. I can store it indoors, and obviously I do not have to worry about fuel.

Ditto on the hydro. Your dealer should steer you towards turfs (they're called that for a reason). Renting a splitter, if you really can accomplish all your splitting in a couple days makes sense. Explain to your wife that a tractor, if purchased right, is simply an investment that will be very helpful while you own it, then can be resold with almost no loss. I will say again, buying used is not a risk if you approach it with caution and common sense, and makes my statement above more likely to be true. I have actually made a bit of money when selling a used tractor that I had cleaned up and added some good lighting to- the one that proved too heavy, with R-4s, for lawn operation. If you buy a gas splitter, simply run it dry before storage. I have a 10 year old gas generator, gets used 1-2 times a year at most, but I run it dry after every use. It still starts with the first pull. Stored in the shop, under cover. No problem.

I had a semi homemade electric wood splitter and it was a huge PITA. Who wants to bring your wood to splitter when it is so much easier to bring your splitter to the wood? I removed the electric motor and replaced it with a gasoline Honda.

Well, if he can bring the logs near a 110 volt outlet, no problem. I always cut my wood into 16" lengths first, and then bring the rounds home. Then I split them there. Works great!

I've been splitting wood on my 35 acres for 30 years with a maul & Fiskar 27, a lot cheaper, good workout to boot.
I only cut dead or fallen trees & have no fireplace, we only burn it in a fire pit, camping & occasionally sale a rick or more.
I can't justify spending the money on a splitter for that.

I've never liked the idea of one machine to do everything. I vote for a light mower (like a ZT) and heavier tractor for moving logs (and you'll find other uses for it). I've found than anything heavy enough for landscaping / light forestry is too heavy for routine use on the lawn.

The other downfall to is you are limited to 1.5 hp on 110 volt at 20 amps. That won't turn much of a hydraulic pump, even the pathetic 6.5 GPM on the BX will put it to shame. I had a 3 hp 220 volt motor on my wood splitter. 220 volt outlets are scarce. My shop was the only place that had one.
