OBD2 Readers - for owners to read TDC

The scangaugeII captures stored trouble codes and will reset the MIL, that is the check engine light and erase the code or codes. The scangauge just provides the numeric code so you have to look up online or in a service manual to determine what the meaning of the fault code is but that is usually easy to find online somewhere.

The new Mahindra service manual for my 3550 PST doesn't contain a list of Trouble Diagnostic Codes (TDC) monitored and/or controlled by the ECU or ECM. However, have found generic codes available on universal scan tools and online. Have yet to find any Mahindra Manufacture defined codes on any OBD2 reader, software or online. My understanding is OBD2 systems have standardization requirements (regulations) which require manufactures make diagnostic possible with a universal scan tool that is available to anyone-not just manufacturer's repair facilities. The Service Manual contains little to no reference information regarding OBD other than in the Introduction section, Troubleshooting (eg. Connect diagnostic tool & check. refer diagnostic manual)
Guessing if a Mahindra tractor owner wishes to work on or at least confirm issues regarding his/her equipment it would be helpful to obtain a diagnostic manual in addition to a service manual. Thus the reason for this thread; compiling Mahindra OBD2 TDC information for owners to better understand how their equipment works and how to keep it in safe working order.

THe service manual I have has little information of any kind. It's the worst excuse for a service manual I've ever seen.

My inexpensive scan tool is showing an error and is unable to read or clear the water in the fuel warning light. Checked again to be sure and there is no water in the fuel. Another forum member said codes can be cleared by pulling a fuse in the fuse box and plugging it into the reset slot. I cannot see a reset slot on the 5555 but there is a diagnostic fuse. What's that for?

Maybe your moisture sensor or it's circuit is shorted somehow. Unplug it and see what happens. The so called moisture sensor is just two pins spaced about 1/10 of an inch apart so it's really nothing special. For there to be no moisture the circuit want's to see an open circuit. I'd take some time to clean all of that crud out of your fuse holder. Add some water to all of that dirt and it's not a happy circumstance for electrical stuff.
