Tractor
sears suburban
While going through odd parts I cobbled this tractor together. Sears LT10 drive axle and right angle gearbox, Briggs 16 twin, unknown steering axle, junk pile ag tires on Jeep rims mounted backwards and c channel frame from past project. In the future will add Zena welder to rear and possible hydralics.

I know these type tractors are not for everyone, but building them are a lot of fun and being able to smooth the yard and drive plus using turning plow dig 12" ditchs in my cleachy yard is very labor saving. In the future I plan to build a FEL to save more labor plus have fun building.

Don't apologize, the rest of us buy our machinery. Not everybody can build 'em too. Keep on buildin'.

Cleatus, I think one of the best things about this forum is seeing pictures of what everyone else has done with their equipment, and getting ideas. It's fun to see projects like your own. Your mechanical ability speaks for itself! Have you by any chance watched that show "junkyard wars" ? If you haven't, it's where some very talented people build working equipment out of stuff thrown away in a junk yard. I wish I could be as talented.

Cletus,
Projects like yours are a good challenge and keep you sharp. It's almost like having your own Monster Garage. Have fun.

By the way we have been to Granbury twice in the last few years and just love that area. You live in a very nice part of the country. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Heres a pic of my suburban with a 5hp briggs. I was able to pull 27' of a moble home frame with floor up a 10ft hill to flat ground where I could hook to van.

Your very first picture looks like something that my FIL made. He is always coming up with something like that or his 4 wheel bicycle.

Wait a minute. We're all getting excited about cleatus' tractor, but what he didn't tell was that he built it FROM a 2005 BMW 760i. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great Stuff.
I have a brother who has six riding lawn mowers and is always going to build something..........maybe one of these days.
Come by anytime and I will help you load them up....yes I think 5 of them run.

Regards, Mark

Are they garden tractors or just mowers. The reason I ask is I'm just 35 miles southwest of Ft. Worth, in Granbury. Where are you.

Cleatus,

Man I was just kidding........not about giving them away, but they are in various stages of decay. They are just riding mowers, a Craftsman, MTD and others. Already gave one away last night, man needed starter, wheels and tires.

Property is in Crosby, about 30 miles NE of Houston. I'll do a quick inventory tonight if your really interested. Just don't want you to make a trip and be disappointed.

Cleatus....do your neighbors give you strange looks, or are they just used to you now? I know I'd get a few strange looks if I was driving my boat down the road, minus the truck and trailer. Thanks for sharing.
