Trailered the tractor FEL and BH the other day on a test run. Chains front and rear with ratchets. Straps on BH and FEL. Felt it was more than adequate as far as tie downs.
The combo drove very solidly. Jordan braking system is great. Almost seemed it was a better ride to tow the full load than empty trailer. The suburban did very well. Rear dropped about 1.5 inches measured at the wheel wells. Front raised 1 inch at wells. Seemed to maintain load balance well. Steering and braking inspired confidence.
Went by the trailer dealer to have all checked. Two owners (family business with 52 years experience) said all was solidly arranged and properly secured. Also gained approval on braking system, hitch and overall load and vehicle balance. Only thing he had me do is raise the adjustable hitch by 1 inch to maintain a slight positive tilt toward rear.
Have towed it a had full of times since without incident. Wife has driven too with no sweat. Very happy about all.
