As to Where to find 30 Gal. drums? Make friends with a Dairyman. They use this size of drums to buy Chemicals for tank wash, and general cleaning of barn,also 15 Gal. this is the size I use, and asked the dealer if need to added stabilizer he said it is already in the fuel, and same fuel used by county,schools, all Gov. type vehicles.should be good enough for a tractor. se'ya ken
</font><font color="blue" class="small">( The real trick is finding someone who has and will sell off-road. Prior poster is dead right; down here, at least, it is ALL low sulpher, they just dye it for off-road. It doesn't pay an oil co to make a 30gal delivery and the delivery charge will offset the tax savings; that's why I palletized mine so that I can take it to the oil co for refilling. I keep forgetting to post a pic, will take one tonight. )</font>
I had no trouble finding the off-road here, about 10 minutes from my house. I saved $.50/gal by buying two 55 gal drums from the oil company and taking them on pallets so I can off-load at home with the bucket forks. the off-road here was dyed high sulfur. John

That is all we run in our tractors..... been doing it for years. You don't need to put stabilizer in the diesel. We fill up our 300gal tank in the fall, right before winter; haven't had any problems (other then putting some anti gel in the tractor tanks).
Truck stops "might" have off road diesel. Or call local construction places to ask where they get their off road diesel....
I'm in a farming area, so just about every place has a off road diesel pump at their station. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Same thing for me here - the local station is only 2 miles from my house (rural area - south of Minneapolis). It's easy to truck 5 gallons back and forth for my 4600.
I didn't think of using a filter though... but then again I do condition it every other tankfull with a can of SeaFoam Treatment - that stuff is the best!
