Yeah..... I started on my version of the grapple rake last weekend. Just a few pics to show a little progress. I'm sure things will become more clear as I progress.

That's my 3-1/2yo grandson in the middle two pics. That boy had rather "go to work" with PaPa than eat when he's hungry.

Nice welds! And I see you have good help.
Can't wait to see more.

Looks big enough to use as a stockade when your help is old enough to drive the family car. And just remember, someday that will come to pass.

I don't get it ................. how are you working on it outside? Where is all your snow? ;)

Yeah my shop (back yard) is under two feet of snow and all major welding projects are on hold 'til I can see the my "shop floor".

Good helper there. I have a son about that age and he throws a fit if I get on the tractor without him. I got to sneak out sometimes on my own tho. Work sometimes gets done faster without "help".

How do these work? I cannot make sense of it. No reflection on the high quality of the build.

TraderMark,

Nice welds. I can see where you are going with the layout. Are you considering a grapple also?

J-J, Yeah... there will be a grapple arm or arms. I just haven't gotten that far yet. I was hoping to get a lot done this past weekend but the rain we had here put a halt to all that.

handirifle.. it'll all make more sense when I get the next stage welded up and pics posted.

Snow? Oh.... you guys are talking about that aggravating white stuff?????? :D:

We had some of that a couple weeks ago but it doesn't stay around long.

Now just wait until August here when you hear me complaining that I can't work because the heat and humidity are unGodly stifling.

I do enjoy the help I get from the boy! :D: I've already taught him which way to turn nuts and bolts to take them off or put them on. I often let him remove or install nuts and bolts once I get them loose enough. But I did the same thing with my son years ago when I was a full time mechanic and he was a boy too. Nothing like family!!!
