Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. We haven't removed the mower yet. How hard is it?

The first few times you do it, you'll be using some of those 4-letter words because your hands will get greasy, you'll forget something, and some darn thing will refuse to cooperate. But the more you do it, the easier it gets. Once you've done it 5 or 6 times, you'll get a routine established, and it's a 5 minute job. The only awkward thing for me is you have to reach under the tractor to attach or remove the mower driveshaft from the mid-pto, which sometimes doesn't want to go on or off, or gets grease all over you. Easy job other than that... no tools necessary.

Best to do it on flat smooth surface... garage floor, paved driveway, etc.

Enjoy that nice BX25! We bought the non-backhoe BX because we already had a BH for the L4610; a decision I regret because that little BH would be so handy at locations we can't take the big one.

It's easier to take off than put on. Not one of my favorite jobs but a must for dirt work.

Can't help much with the BX, but with the Massey, the deck removes and installs a lot easier with the FEL installed.

Nice to have the backhoe, helps getting out when you get that sinking feeling.

At least you were able to get yourself out. My brother in law and I were mucking out a semi-dried up pond, getting everything we could dig out right up to the waters edge. I hadnt rained in 4 months so it was really low. We would take the FEL and scoop up the soft dirt that had dried up on top. At some point it would get so soft that the front wheels would break thru and we would sink in the mud. We usually could just dump the load and scurry back by using the FEL and push back or just lower is and use it to slide the front back to solid ground. We once I reached the crush thru phase and dumped my load like usual but when I put down the FEL to push myself put, it also just sunk like in quick sand. My front tires were completely under the mud and the more we worked at pulling and tugging on it the deeper it sank. Finally we managed to unhook the box blade from the rear that I was just using for a counter weight anyway. IT was raised as high as I could get it and the top link was short as it would go and it was still on the ground. Finally I was able to drive the top pin out and then we got it off the lift arms. My BIL used his T 2030 NH with FEL to carry it away then come back and try to pull me out by attaching to the FEL. That didnt work as if was just lifting up the rear wheels and front were spinning. Finally got it out by hooking on to his bush hog with a 25 foot chain and chaining to the lift arms. I was beginning to think we may have to call for a dozer to get me out. This was all a week or so before I got my LS P7010. I could likely have just lifted the little Yanmar 4220 out with that monster.

I guess you should have just waited until your LS arrived...I guess we are all a little impatient...:laughing:

Been there done that - only our machine is a bit larger then yours so the hole was a bit deeper that got it stuck. Having a bucket on each end sure does come in handy for those times.

That said, my brother called me one day and asked if I could come help. He was using the machine up at the ditch along the road. He had it stuck with the rear left wheel and the right front tire not touching. The FEL and BH didn't seem to be mush help.

Took a while, but I got it out.

BTW - I agree, take the MMM off before trying to backfill anything. No need risking that mower and the clearance helps.
