We had a rain/snow storm around the first of May. Since then a couple of days of thunderstorm activity but pretty rare. We are seven years into a drought. so far this year we have had 3.5 inches of the normal 7 plus year to date. All the water boards for the metropolitan Denver area have restarted water restrictions, again, for the third year in a row.

Every morning, I walk outside, look at my well, look to the sky and mumble a prayer asking God that this NOT be the day she goes dry.

Why neighbors you have never met will all of a sudden be smiling and waving?

Poppa, I know whacah mean....First time I had my tractor out working I had two neighbors stop and talk for an extended time for the first time in a long time. It felt good to throttle down and shut down to talk with them .....

I hear your concerrns about water....a few years ago we had a20' well dug to pump water for the livestock....Even though they dug in wetlands, the water table had dropped following an extended drought in the NE and there was little or no water to be had. These days it's back to ground level though and we're grateful! Here's a prayer for rain in your area

On another note, I experienced the joy and plain exhilaration last weekend as I accomplished in 15 minutes what would have taken me 2 hours without a tractor

I had some limbs hanging over a charged fence and needed to remoce them.....the FEL made quik work out of the issue and I got on to other things....what a great feeling!

Enjoy!!

Well, I couldn't help myself last night so I broke out the grease gun even though she only has 7.4 hours on her I hit every zerk on the tractor and loader. Felt good and greasy, gotta love that. I haven't stooped to washing her yet although we don't have mud here so she really cleans up with just the wipe of a damp cloth. I think I have finally gone around the bend. The only thing that gives me hope is that the three year old girl loves sitting in the garage on Poppa's tractor as much as Poppa does. I am thinking of using the Owners manual for the good night stories. Actually might be a good reason to splurge for the Shop manual. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know what you mean about the neighbors coming out of the woodworks when they know that you have a tractor to "help" them out!

I experienced just the opposite effect the other day.
My neighbor saw me removing trees with my new BX23 the other day.
He tells me he has a class A heavy equipment operators license and volunteers to bring in a dozer to clean up the rest of dozens of trees.
