oil and filters?

I think the cost was very similar to Super UDT...about $65 for a 5 gallon bucket (It has been awhile since I did this). I went with the Chevron for two reasons:
1) Chevron says that it's SuperUDT replacement.,
2) The Chevron dealer is a "known good guy" and he's pretty closeby. The local Kubota guy seems nice, but is clueless about UDT/SuperUDT... He recommended some Case product that I was not comfortable using...

I spoke with them. "Kubota, UDT - All" means both UDT and Super UDT. Why would "All" lead you to believe it meant only UDT?

I was assuming, incorrectly, that "All" was refering to All Kubota Tractors. After going to their site and reading it over again, I realized that they were refering to the oil specification, not specific tractors. My mistake...... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Why on earth would a Kubota dealer recommend a Case product? Even if it was the same thing. Seems like he would make out better with customers trusting him, and his relationship with Kubota would be more solid if he sold genuine parts recommended in the manual. For peace of mind the cost between the 2 products over the life of the tractor seems worth it to me. Maybe that is all he had in stock at the time.

The local Kubota dealer near here is also a NAPA dealer. He doesn't stock any Kubota filters or oils. Only sells NAPA and says that they are equal or better. I have often wondered what Kubota thinks of situations such as this, and I have come to the conclusion that they don't care as long as the dealer is moving enough units through the show room.

I really don't know why he suggested the Case product. When I spoke of "Kubota Super UDT fluid" the parts guy looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. At the time, I don't think the dealership was very familiar with these compact tractors. Their back lot was full of multi-ton monsters that probably cost more than my house. My BX2200 was the one and only compact around at the time I bought it. Now I notice they have a whole stable of BX2230's and a BX23 or three.

Our Case/Kubota dealer does the same thing. The good thing is that they stock UDT and Super UDT even though they don't use it. They told me that all their tractors get the same bulk hydraulic fluid.

In terms of motor oil (original question) mine gets Mobil Delvac 1 (which is what I use in the truck) My understanding is that it's the same motor oil as Walmart's "Mobil Truck and Suv Synthetic" which is just repackaged Delvac 1 for sale to non-fleet customers.

My local Kubota dealer uses Amalie All Trac 245 (+/- $36 5 gal.) in place of Kubota UDT. The service manager told me they the have the ok from the folks at Kubota and no warranty issues using this fluid. Now I just have to find out if it will work in my CC 7234.

The Wix products that Napa sells (Napa Gold) are very nice filters. I would not be afraid of using them. We have began using them in several applications at the power plant I work for. I went with Genuine Kubota Because of no hassle availability. At The price my dealer charged I would not have saved much or anything by going to Napa, and possibly having to order the filters.

It is good to know that Napa can get the correct filters if I ever get in a bind.

I would prefer to use Super UDT over Napa Hydraluic fluid. I have never been a big Valvolene fan.
