Franz filters is the brand and they are still in business. There may have been another brand but Franz is the one I am familiar with.

I heard years ago that some of the large filter canisters were made to use toilet paper rolls to filter the engine oil. No idea if that was true or BS.

true.. didn't last.. or at least go over well with the old tractor crowd..

Yeah, I never understood how that would work because toilet paper just disintegrates when it gets wet. It looks to me that it would just turn into a wet heavy glob and wouldn't filter anything. :confused3:

Is there any chance you have a part number for that filter, or an application? Might you be able to scan the plans? That sounds like a great idea.

•Pipe to 3/8"-hose adapter suitable for the outlet of the existing parts washer. Most of these, including mine, are 1/4" NPT, which is McMaster p/n 5346K18. $9.19/10

•Hose Clamps for 11/16" OD hose. McMaster p/n 5388K16. $5.28/box

How do you replace the wire mesh. The mesh in my tractor is very rusty

Buy new r&r.

Some units you may have to slightly damage or mod the retainer, no biggie, places like 301 Moved Permanently sell the mesh.
