my old gassers still get old dino oil
i didn't have diesels then, so have no comparison as to what I used then and now.
I still don't endorse going to a synthetic solely for extended interval.. that was the main bone I picked back then. It's still my opinion that in many cases it's better to do more often oil changes even on dino oil, than trying to ride out an extended change. for a low hour tractgor that gets low usage.. you might be going years getting that change interval.. imho.. that's not good for contaminates int he oil to set that long. 1x per ear minimum oil change is what I'd do.. 2x is better. hard to justify that using a syn oil that is $$ and having to do that with maybee 25 ? hours on a machine? yet soot and acids are inthe oil..

I own some diesels now and choose to run dino in some and syn in others.. extended oil change is not one of the factors I considered. there are some reasons a syn could be usefull.. and in the end.. a syn surely won't hurt.
As stated.. I have a gaser i'm runnign syn on as a test for cleaning. from what I've seen recently.. the syn oils may be higher detergent and clean more. .. like ai said.. I'm testing.. it's a work in progress. doing another syn oil test on another gasser too. jury's not out ont he value / performance / return on that one. remember.. we are arguing over my opinion. your free to not like it... your free to not like it 10ys ago.. your free to think i'm not being fair. I've got no bone to pick...
this will be my last post on this issue here. If you want to complain to me via PM/EM how bad you think I am.. or how my opinion is wrong.. my emails open and pm is as well.
