Oil dip stick

I have a 1976 Ford 1000 that my dad bought new. It has under 900 hours and is in relatively good shape. I was checking the oil this past weekend and the rubber grommet on the dipstick broke (dry rot). Now the stick will not stay in place. Does anyone know where I might find a dipstick?

Have you tried putting a 'O' ring on it?
You might try a tractor salvage yard.
