ditto that. the chinese factories will build to spec. you may want some extra QC setup.. but if you spec high.. it will cost a tad more.. but will be built high.

There is No reason to think "made in China" is the same as purposefully made inferior...
Things are manufactured to spec... regardless where it is made.

The only reason you are able to buy a PC at the price they are available ... is Because they are made where they are. I have been in electronics for decades... we are very fortunate that we have an affordable source...
And they will not 'tank' in any time soon...
It says Something when an item can be made Identical, shipped half way around the world and Retailed for 1/3 the price of a domestic manufactured item...(the difference is Not Just the cost of Labor).
Baldwin filters were good ... and still are good.
That said I still use Wix, always have, & I have NO idea where they are made... KennyV

I just did change the engine oil filter on my Ferguson TO-35 tractor. It uses a replaceable filter element inside of a permanent outer steel can. I had two new Purolator elements that I bought about 2 or 3 years ago. The element was made in India, and was all paper, including the perforated side shell and the end caps. It was so flimsy that both of the elements fell apart just trying to install them. Never again for Purolator. I found some Baldwin filters online that have an all metal perforated shell and end caps. Baldwin has a detailed cross reference and application guide online. I also discovered that one of the largest online old tractor parts source was listing the wrong filter for my tractor . I contacted them, and they simply replied that they did not carry the filter I requested. But, I found several other sources online for Baldwin filters. The fellow who bought all of those filters and compared them did a lot of work, but the filters he bought for Chrysler and some other automotive engines were not necessarily of the same construction as tractor filters, so his work is not the last word on filters for those of us on this forum.

kinda like the difference in a napa 1515 and a napa 1452

both are crosses for a ford dual 300.. etc.

the 1515 is specifically an auto application whereas the 1452 is an ag application...
