If you are still concerned you are getting the wrong or even a bad filter from Mahindra, Then go to your local Kioti dealer and it is the same engine in the DK35/Dk40.
I am a Kioti and a Mahindra dealer and I have never had a problem with either filter.

If your running a 35 HP DaeDong engine, it is likely the same as in my Kioti DK 35.
A Napa #1182 should work.
I run a Napa Gold #1324 on my DK 35, same specs as the 1182 but slighly shorter (because I'm pressed for space between the motor and body panels)

The numbers I was given as possible replacements are

NAPA 1324
Motorcraft FL-786

I have been tied up with other things so I have not had a chance to try them as yet. I agree that this should not be so hard and that Mahindra should be able to find a source for a filter the same as what comes with the engine from the mfg. By the way it is my understanding that this problem is exclusive to the 3510 and 4110. If you have one of these models and have purchased a replacement filter that has a flat cut gasket and does not leak please provide numbers and a name and phone number where I can get one. As for a local Kioti dealer I have been unable to find one. Your help would be greatly appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm betting the Napa #1324 will work !!
And yes it does have the flat cut gasket..

Finally got around to picking up a filter at the local NAPA store (#1324). Took the original Mahindra filter and my trusty vernier calipers with me to make an in store comparison. Except for the fact that the NAPA filter is slightly taller than the original (not a problem) the threads and gasket seemed to be the proper sizes. Glad to hear your up and running.
As far as I know the 35 and 40 HP Daedong engines run the same filter, so the Napa #1324 should work on the 3510 or the 4110 Mahindra.
