And that is the reason why they are called trailer queens. Sitting does as described, dry out seals, pan gaskets. Unless you can start them up, get them up to temp, sitting does no good.
Cars must be different than tractors. If I restore a tractor then park it.. seals weep, tires crack.. and points corode.. even parking them in a decently protected barn. bats go flat.. .. they run like crud after setting. rings stick..e tc.. etc.. carbs get gummy.. etc..
running them around lightly seems to help them. looking at ones I use infrequently, but letting them warm up is good.. I wouldn't start one to just shut it down.. that would invite moisture. vs ones I have more or less mothballed.. the ones that get light frequent use are still in top condition.. the others.. when I need to move them.. it's always a 2 hr job just to get them to start.
