snkbyt,

I'm not sure what the 575 model is but have you tried NAPA yet? I have a Cub Cadet/Mitsubishi now a Mahindra and NAPA has a pretty good cross reference, at least for the oil and hydraulic numbers. The other thing you can do a lot of checking using the Hastings web site, (they make the NAPA I think). www.hastingsfilter.com There are some other cross reference sites, Fram I think and Fleetguard. Sometimes you can use them to help in your search. Some OEM filters are real expensive. The $11 dollar range sounds a little under what a dealer charges for OEM Mitsubishi filters, the NAPA/Hastings equivalent around $7. I hate excessive filter prices too but the bottom line is if you can't find another make, the $11 is a cheap cost to protect an engine replacement probably costing in the $1000s. Some folks on this site won't use anything but OEM filters and you know it will always meet the specs on the equipment. Happy research!

I have a Mahindra 485 DI. The 485 and 575 are almost the same, says my dealer. Oil filter part number for the 485 is CARQUEST #85775.

Whoops! I screwed up big time. The politically correct would say they mis-stated something, me I screwed up. I meant to say check the Wix Filter site for a cross-reference not Hastings. The whole time I was typing that something didn't sound right in my mind about Hastings making/being a NAPA filter. I think Hastings makes good filters but not NAPA's. I hope I didn't send you off on a wild goose chase. Sorry for any confusion.

Atleast you caught your mistake! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif And you are right.

If you can get a number off the oil filter that is on it or get the number (from the dealer) for a new one you can simply cross reference it on the WIX site. I'm sure other filter manufacturors have similar setups on their websites. If you get a number for any popular aftermarket filter makers you'll be able to cross it with just about any other brand.
