Anyone know of a suitable replacement oil filter/Air filter for my Yanmar 2310 2 WD? I hear Wix/NAPA is good but Fram is not. It is time to change the oil and do other maintenance while it is cold outside.

THanks

Don't take this the wrong way,but if you use the search feature you will probably find what you need. It has been discussed several times before. If you don't find it repost and someone will be glad to go over it with you.

I did this before I posted and found mention of a Fram 3593A which also had a few posts recommending not to use this manufacturer. I was hoping someone had already done the research at a NAPA store.

I've used all you've mentioned and then some... and by changing every 3000-5000 miles, or every couple hundred hours... honestly, I've never found any major differences in such a short time span of useage... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

...a Fram just came off my Deere and was replaced by a Purolator... and a Honda OEM filter recently came off the wife's Honda and was replaced by a Fram...

So all-in-all over the thousands of hours and ten's of thousands of miles... it could have been a "coin-toss"... but never once a problem not only with Fram... but no problems with any filter... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Here you go Dennis, NAPA oil 1568,air 6262,fuel 3263. The 1334 and 1344 oil will also fit.

John, my experience has been the same as yours. Having grown up in the service station and auto parts business, I've sold (and used) Wix, Fram, AC, Purolator, Baldwin, and other filters; never had any filter related problem with any of my own equipment and never had a customer complaint.

I agree guys, this ain't rocket science, this is tractorin', and as far as I'm concerned, a "will fit" filter is good enough as long as it's changed in a timely manner. I've had about a dozen vehicles, only one tractor, and never noticed what brand of filter I used, but never, ever had a filter problem.

I put 265,000 miles on my Honda with strictly Fram PH3593 oil filters every 5,000 miles, and it never burned a drop of oil or had any engine problems...

I'd venture to say... that Honda would do that if the filters were made of just toilet paper... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Using the search feature to find the proper filters for your tractor is an exercise in futility unless you just happen to own a specific model tractor. Because I have seen the apparent irritation shown when one asks about specific tractors, I have tried to use this feature but with little success. One filter mentioned frequently is the NAPA 1334 which seems to fit a lot of the smaller engines but that gives me no confirmation that it will specifically fit mine.

I have manuals purchased from Len Schaffer, but they are for a "close matched US model" YM226. My tractor is a 1610. Not the same engine though they may be close. I have searched these manuals till my eyes blurred but cannot find a spec page that lists even the Yanmar numbers from which I could then cross reference. Every reference to the filters, (oil, fuel, air) only states to "replace with a genuine YANMAR filter element"

The oil filter on my tractor is painted yanmar grey so no numbers are available to read.

I read frequently about a cross reference post that was on the "old yahoo board" but no one seems to be able to find it.

I apologize for the rant but this has been a frustrating pursuit so far.
