I received my shipment of Wix oil filters today from Filter 1. They also sent a catalogue listing what there filters would fit. I looked at the listing for a 3710 HSt Kubota and found nothing. Is a 3750 the same engine? Seems like they listed all the others but not the 3710! I am interested especially in the HSt hydraulic filter since it is quite expensive through the dealer. Does anyone have any knowledge what Wix filters would replace the factory filters?

Filter1 has treated me well (good prices and service)... However, they only had the "easy" filters (fuel, air, oil). They didn't carry (or perhaps Wix doesn't make) hydraulic filters for my L2850...

Good Luck,

Guys, check the wix web sight... Wix.com it will list every filter for every tractor they make. I check it, then call down to my local parts dealer and 9 times out of 10 they have it, if not they will have the next day.

Wix doesn't list anything on their web site for a TC-18 or 21 ! I was a little suprised, but I have found few after market things of any kind for the '18. dass

A friend of mine and I were talking and looking for filters today at our local "going out of business" Quality Farm and Fleet and both of us came to the same conclusion as it seems others have. ... the whole filter dilema comes down to a few aspects: 1) does it fit - threads are the same and gasket lines up, 2) is at least as large as the one it replaces and have oil passeges at least as large and as many, 3) does it have the same anti-backflow valve/diaphram. ...That's it!!!

Maybe we've oversimplified this but I long ago went to the Ford/Motocraft FL-300 and the Puralator or AC equivalent which is slightly larger than the $8 Ford/NH dealer filter and which still aligns perfectly on my old 1720. I'm only guessing but since this filter was used on much larger 6 and V-8 engines, I've assumed it is at least as good. More recently, my TC-40D came with a filter that was the same size as the one on my 2 cylinder Kohler engine-driven gas lawn tractor. No way that filter was as good as any of the larger alternatives. I think I'll stick with the FL-300 and equivalents. Any thoughs?

The reason so many oil filters are smaller is oil flow when it's cold ! They learned years ago when some of the cams in 4cyl. engines in domestic cars were chewing themselves up EARLY ! The faster oil flows thru it the better , especially in cold temps. dass
