Oil- Hydraulic Filter Difference

/ Oil- Hydraulic Filter Difference #21
...wrong. I still have a few originals. After doing my recent fluid changes I did notice my oil and hydraulic looked and measured stangely identical although labelled different. Is there a fundamental difference or are they in fact the same...
The chinese filter is using "pinyin" abbreviation
YX:the "Y" means 液(yè) 压 -hydraulic
JX: the "J" means 机(jī) 油 -motor oil
the "original" manufacturer in the photo

I have been looking back through some old threads on a replacement for my chinese backhoe which uses a BB Bengbu Jinwei YX0811A hydraulic oil filter. All the distributors stateside are out of stock, so I started a search for a replacement. I have bought and tested two that cross referenced over to a replacement. First being the Baldwin BT839-10 which someone earlier had mentioned and the Fram P1653A which is more readily available around my area. I did try a Hastings filter HF731, which was supposed to also cross reference over, but found it did not match the threads of the filter housing. I have a PDF file of many other brands that cross over to the Chinese filter, but can not figure how to attach it.

YX0811A is a hydraulic oil filter which is what my backhoe was shipped with. The JX0811A is a standard oil filter.

May I weigh in?
The only difference between the two filters is the micron rating and the by-pass relief setting. Hydraulic return line filters usually have a nominal micron rating of 5µ to 10µ with a 2 to 5 psig by-pass. Engine oil filters usually have a nominal 15µ to 25µ rating with a 10 to 15 psig by-pass. That said, a human hair is about 60µ.
As far as I'm concerned, they are interchangeable.
