that must be the reason that my oil pan gasket has failed and I have posted about in another thread..... They used a Fram oil filter cartridge when they changed the oil the last time. Either that or blame it on the dog????? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
back in 1979 i was running a brand new american back hoe with a detroit in it. afer 1 mo. they sent someone out to check it over. he asked what kind of oil i was using. i said da diesel oil he told me they made a grade better than what i was using. so i used it. 3 mo. later it blew up. the factory rep said it was oil related. They fixed it for free and fired the guy that recommended that oil. i know 79 makes me old.

My aunt had a 82 chevy that had to have the cam replaced with only 6k miles on it! One lobe was almost flat! Now thats soft metal! When she died, I got the car and drove it till there was about 110k on it. Sold it to a guy to use as a taxi! After the cam fix I never had a problem with the car.
