Ok - 2320 time!

I have a 2520 and I won't be cutting lawn with it.
I have turf tires and just from the weight of the tractor I leave depressions.

I have about 1.5 acres to cut and do it with a riding mower.
I'm also trying to grow trees and stuff to eliminate lawn mowing.
Waste of time and money, IMO. If I could have no lawn I would but that's a bit impractical .
I really can't imagine cutting a "Scotts" golf course lawn with a CUT, but that's me.
Fields and swaths near fields, sure.

I have trails in the woods and I've knocked a quick disconnect off the FEL on the right side on a stump I didn't notice. A 2520 has a decent amount of ground clearance.

Some day when all my other digging projects are done I'll sell the 2520 and get a quad instead to go in the woods with.
Maybe. :)

Hi Bill,

Yeah - no plans for me to go with a 2520.

I switched from having two tractors (lawn and utility) to a 2520 and am very happy. Only one vehicle to maintian, takes up less space, etc. My lawn looks great, the R4s leave a little bit of marks in the early spring, but they always disappear within a day. I use mine in the woods, and borrowed a rotary mower (dad's) to clear the woods by backing in. Great way to get rid of honeysuckle, etc. I cut the lawn with the 62d MMM and it's the best for manuerving around trees. For clearing woods, I'd suggest getting one from Tractor Supply for a few hundred dollars. You won't cringe when u hit a stump that's a bit to big, or the rock you didn't see. The damage to the blades won't matter b/c your in the woods not cutting a lawn. Plus, being able to back that into the garbage you want to cut is a wonderful way to clear stuff without getting beat up by the branches while your on the seat.

I use mine in the yard all the time. In the spring the loader is very helpful in spreading mulch (I buy @ 7 yards by dump truck), great for dumping grass clippings from the lawn mower (very steep side hills by the house and some trim work), placing leaves, sticks, branches, etc. into it.

By way of reference, I started looking at the 2210, waited for the 2305 went to the store and came home with the 2520 - very happy I did with 3+ years of perfect service.

But, go with what works for you.

I think you will be very happy with a 2320. We have 16 1/2 acres, 5 of which is mowed with the 62D MMM and 10 acres of fields to tend to and abt 1000' of driveway/yard to tend to. The 2320 does it all and very well I might add, it will pull the 5' Frontier box blade in hard pak to the point stuff if coming out over the top and not stop the tractor. I think the RFM in your case would be a good choice but the 62D would work as well.

Anyway good luck and enjoy your new machine..

Thanks guys! It is getting closer! We are closing on the land/home and it is time to play around on the land! I cannot wait to have the 2320 in the garage. :)

Gentlemen,
I wasn't sure where to post this reply but this thread seemed the most appropriate since it was in regards to the purchase or planned purchase of a JD 2320. Today I signed the papers and on Wednesday will be taking delivery of a 2007 JD 2320 with 200CX FEL. I just wanted to thank everyone in this thread and in the entire JD forum for the questions, insights and thoughts on so many aspects of this CUT. Though I have ran JD field tractors all my life (my grandfather and fathers are Iowa farmers), this is the first compact tractor I have looked into and this one is now mine. Thank you again for all the information provided, it certainly helps a newbie like myself.

Congrats on the new machine. You will come to the point that you'll wonder how you ever did without it and keep finding new things to do and want to buy for it.
