I had good luck my first hay round and yes did clog up the baler once, cussed and sweat enough to know never to that again, rather it take me an extra couple mins then an extra 45 mins (takes about that long to unclog it i found out trust me ) but this round has gotten rained on twice I dont think its much good for anything but cattle now

or he'll be old and crotchety and wondering why a new 'city boy' is trying to cut hay.

The simpler version (the one i use) is when all the "real farmers" around me are cutting, thats when should be cutting. When they are tedding, thats when i should be tedding. when they are rowing thats when i should be rowing and when they are bailing... well you get the point..

useing the above method it doesnt take long to "figure out" what they are watching for. weather wise, crop wise etc.

Yep, that's the method I use since I'm a complete haying newby.

If it look similar to this, you will do a good job of tedding hay. Ken Sweet

no it doesnt  Mine is the 3 point style and looks like and older version of a tedder, it can also double as a rake i guess by flipping a lever in changes the way the one wheel rotates. Will this be to small for my tractor? Its only about 7 ft wide

If it is indeed a tedder/rake combo? Used the rake part sparingly. The cam bearings that ride in the slots and are low life high upkeep machines If you leave it in the tedder position, most of the time, you may be ok? Ken Sweet
