I hate when that happens! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I take it no damage other than some wet soggy feet? How fast did the front of the tractor sink in? I was thinking about removing the bucket on my 4410 to get some weight off the front end. Did you notice any difference with the bucket off?

No FEL on my compact. I use the sickle mower on my larger IHB414 with the old manual dump FEL. It seems that weeds and mud builds up on the end of the bar and then uses its newfound leverage to spin me in the lake. Once in awhile I mow when its wet and on the inclines the tractor slides in the edge. Really raises the pucker factor. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I need to extend my lift arms to use the mower on my YM220D. FEL is on the list. Hope this helps.

Re: OK, here\'s my pond-Notice anything wrong???

I had a similar but very embarasing incident at my parents golf course many years ago. I was mowing greens and deceided to drive near the pond to look for golf balls while traveling between greens. The mower has bald tires and I got stuck /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif! I had to walk home and get my brother and the tractor to pull me out. I have since learned not to mix business with pleasure.

It was embarassing the first time for me too. But I've been mowing the lake bank since 1972, I just look at it as a break from mowing now. I stay away from the dam bank tho' too steep and deep! Sickle mower sure makes the fish and frogs jump.

Re: OK, here\'s my pond-Notice anything wrong???

I was mowing parallel to the water's edge when the "crust" broke. As I tried to back up, the front end went deeper into the water. Next, the r4 tires got loaded up with mud and lost traction. The front wheels were stuck in a rut in which they made whilst trying to back out. No harm done, the front axle never became totally immersed.
