Well, we finally got it out just minutes before a big storm hit to.
We used a "Come-a-long" to pull it backwards and then used an ATV to help pull it to the right while going forward. Thanks for all your help. Pictures will follow as soon as I re-learn how to upload.

Good for you DCS, glad ya got free'd.

I know the last time I had to get my little 770 out of mud with a come-along I was beat, dead tired. Slogging from the tractor to the nearest tree, digging out tires gain a foot and do it again. (Not as young as once we were.)

DCS:

YEAH :D :D!! I used to use my come-a-long (and at times a Danforth type anchor) all the time to pull my little old Ford 1100 out of the mud. I did not think that a come-a-long would work as well with a bigger and heavier JD 4310. I will also admit that based on your pictures-
R-1's would have gotten you in farther and deeper before you "sank". R-1's will "goo" forward, but will not "goo" backwards (You do not have to ask me why I know this .). I am glad you were able to extricate yourself and I loved the pictures (You should set your digital camera's clock.). Jay

That thing displays the day first and then the month. Kind of confusing, but I have not found a way to change the format.

Yep, I think that qualifies for the definition of being stuck. It wears me out just looking at the pictures of all that gooey stuff....

Way to go!

Oh boy, when you do a job you do a good one!:D!!;)

Just think, next time someone asks how to get out you'll have plenty of experience.

Just one question if anyone is still out there; I've often gotten out of trouble by wrapping a chain around the center of the bucket, then curling it; is there any reason why nobody suggested this?
