It is now my wallpaper. I just can't figure out if it's a tractor turned cycle, or a cycle turned tractor! Cool!

Love it!! Kenny, drive that up by Topeka sometime. It'll hit the speed limit on the Turnpike, won't it?

Just a note to PineRidge and newcountry…

Mike, No that isn’t my creation… while reading mith’s purposed project, I remembered that picture a friend had sent me… I don’t know where it is located, I’ll try to find out and get some other pictures if possible.

Eric, I don’t know where you would hang the ‘Ktag’ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif KennyV.

Back in the mid 70's General Electric built a mower that would fit your needs.......the Elec-Trac. It was a 36v electric lawn tractor with a front mounted deck. It also had other attachments such as a tiller and a snow blower. Maybe you could find one of them and refurbish it.

Yup, Yup!! It can be done. With the vertical crankshaft ( Horizontal displacement ) engine, reversing the motor won't mean a thing. It's all still going to turn in the same direction.
If you use a unit with a top loading transaxle, Then the rest is a breeze. Cut, weld, resize belts, wait for a nice day, and take pictures of the neighbors laughing.
Should be a fun project. Don't forget the chromed stacks and wheelie bars!!

Ducksjunk, youre sounding like me!
The way i plan no levers, linkages belts will have to be significantly changed
Planning to go to a local machnery auction to pick up some mowers to use for various projects
Cheers!

If its a vertical shaft engine, then the only problem I see is that the deck belt routing might be interesting since the deck is originally powered from the front rather than the rear.

Sounds like a neat little project. I just wish I could find a 3 blade lawn tractor deck in working condition, or inexpensively repairable (free...). I want to put a front mount deck on a little diesel 4wd tractor I have.

I attached a photo of the tractor. That's my 5 year old son tilling.
