That was a funny video to watch but scary at the same time. Each one was an accident waiting to happen. When I was a kid my father taught me to shoot his 12 gauge with some half loads, even then I can remember how much that gun kicked (and hurt my shoulder). I wouldn't put a 12 gauge with buckshot or turkey load in the hands of a novice, man or woman just like I wouldn't put a 44 mag revolver in their hands either, without plenty of education and warnings first.
So I have to ask a question. If your wife was home alone and someone is trying to break in would you want her to open a locked door and exit the house to fire a blast (or two) into the air? Not me. I've always said make noise, where it's the TV on high, yelling, or getting the dogs barking. If that doesn't deter them then grab the Mini30 find a safe place to hide that offers you plenty of light in any direction anyone could come from. Once you see them shoot to kill. If that means 20 shots, so be it. Simply put if a criminal is not scared off knowing that someone is in the house and awake then they have every intentions of doing you harm.

That's nice to know. I always liked the .410 as a light weight caliber that anyone can shoot without fear. It's hard to enjoy yourself when you fear the kick of the gun.

You need to add a few more pows and the sound of a clip getting swapped out. :laughing:
When someone decides to enter my house while I'm home to do me hard the only law I care about is "when seconds count the police are minutes away". In my case as much as an hour away.

Get in the most secure area where she has clear line of fire, call 911, drop the phone, prepare to reload.
Shoot on sight then yell "I've got a shotgun".

I like that you said drop the phone. I have definitely heard conversations with the 911 operator that I think detract from the survivability of the caller.
I probably misunderstand, but some of the questions seem to be so irrelevant, and sometimes I hear the caller getting pretty annoyed.

Seems to me a .410 would have plenty of power at close range to put a perp down. Compare that to a .38 or most other pistols and I suspect a .410 would be right up there with the larger calibers in terms of stopping power in the close quarters of a home.
