Is it a reducer (looks like one by the box configuration)

Is it a reducer that requires external lubrication?

Based on the case I would say it's gear, also looks to be self contained lubrication from the site glass on the side. Haven't seen that one in person but have been inside similar gear reducers.

I also noted the sight glass. Hence the question of options to remote forced lube.

Or maybe it's nothing more than a viewing window. Such as an A/C unit might have.

they don't tell you the HP. it can handle though!.. at that price, I'd be leery that it's a low HP. reducer..

Just read a little more, I'm guessing these are used to convert a hyd. motor to run a standard pto attachment?
