CCWKEN, I think the yellow chevy is a 70 not a 74. I recognize that front grill anywhere as I had 2 70 chevelles.

Good catch! I think you're right. :ashamed: I obviously have the picture file name mislabeled. It was a scan of a film picture (before digital) and I probably mislabeled that too. That was back in the days when you sent your film in and waited a week or two to get your pictures back. After a few weeks of more pictures to finish out the roll of film.

Actually, at least in NYS, once a vehicle is 25 y.o., it is considered "Antique"--not "Classic," mind you, but "Antique," for whatever reason and, thus, is eligible for far cheaper antique car insurance.

But I agree--the C-4 'Vettes have not yet "felt the love," which makes them about THE biggest bang, in terms of braking, handling, and straight-ahead performance, that you can buy. I saw triple black, 1994 or 1995, loaded, 70K miles, IMMACULATE, sit on Craigslist for weeks, with an ask of, IIRC, only $7.900.

They're not my style but, since you can get the first C-4s (1984 models) as drivers, for $3,500.+, you can beat 'em with a stick, in terms of "seat-fun per mile."

Now, were money no object, I'd have a C-2 (1963-1967), and it would Be a 1963, as that's the ONLY year for the split rear window. However, they can be six-figure cars, now....

i originally bought our acreage in the country so that i might have a place to work on a hot rod or two. my current thinking is to start with a 1970 or so plymouth valiant. the dusters are, to me, better looking, but i don't like how close to the side window my head is (i'm tall).

second place is a 67 - 68 mustang, third place is a 1970 or so chevy nova.

whatever i end up with, i'm probably going to stuff some flavor of general motors ls based engine in it and be darned to them that don't like it. :cool2:

I miss my Dad's 72 Delta 88, with the V8 Rocket 350 2BBL. I will never forget the different sound that engine made. Too bad My Dad never believed in accessories and it was all base equipment. But, that car had a nicer interior then luxury cars have today. Plush and good looking. Probably a recycling nightmare.

Funny, If I have a dream with a car in it, it's ALWAYS, that car. So I don't need to ever get another one. I just need to go to sleep.

You probably got laid the first time in the back seat of that car and that's why your mind keeps hanging on to it. LOL
