Sorry.... 1958 Chevrolet Impala had 3 across the rear body panel at both sides. Tail lamp / backup lamp / tail lamp.

I stand corrected. Those details are kind of fuzzy, as it was way before I was born! :p

Chevrolet distinguished their models with the Biscayne and Bel Air models having two taillights on each side...

...and the Impala and Caprice models having three taillights on each side...

This lasted until the mid-1970's as the Biscayne and Bel Air models were dropped, and the Impala and Caprice models carried on with three per side into the 1990's.

Larry, are you from Nu Joisy? The cars came to me through a third party, who was a friend of my fathers. There never was a dealer sticker on the rear of the cars, so it might have originated at Potamkin. I do know that there was a lot of "horse trading" going on with these cars. Prior to the 1958 Chevrolet, there was a Yellow and Black 1957 Dodge convertible, that was as sweet a car as you will ever find. That is the car that I would love to have today.

Yes
I was born and raised in Boonton township... Even though Boonton township was west 40 miles from Newark area,, Potamkin was the largest Chevy dealer in Jersey and NYC at the time... I just made an assumption based on knowing who the largest chevy dealer was at the time.. A wild guess if you will.

You still have the 1950 Chevy?
I'll have to check it out some time when I'm in the neighborhood! ;)
Let me know! :)

I'd like to find a 1960's Studebaker to restore in the spring...

Here's a link to the South Bend Tribune Classified Ads webpage(South Bend, Indiana is the home of Studebaker). There are usually some Studes listed every week. No 60s models this week. Also, there is a Studebaker Driver's Club that hosts classified ads with lots of cars all the time. South Bend has a nice Studebaker National Museum, as well.
