Old geeks still in the trenches

I didnot stay in the trenches for too long.
Actually the final degree of my grad study was in Solid State. Started in R/D in a large corp as Project Eng., moved up the management chain in technology, and end up in the general management. I was hired away to run high tech firms in the eighties for a while. Now I just do stuff on the ranch, take care of my horses, cats, and dog. During the warm seasons, I mow grass almost everyday. Pasture management is a very time consuming job.

I got into computers ( hardware.. mostly ) when the trs80 was the new thing.. managed to keep up with the pack till windows 95 came out.. thought I was holding my own.. but win 98 started getting away.. and by the time 2000 got here.. i was just a 'user'... I still beat on old iron. but it aint the same anymore..

To Phils.. you gonna be burried "face down, 9-edge first?"

Scotty,
Come on out, I have plenty of grass for both you and me to mow.
I am opening up another three acres of beushland and turning it into pasture/meadow this Fall.

I've had a series of jobs; nothing I'd call a career. Quite a collection of hair nets and name tags, though.

Of course, this was all said first by Mike Meyers in Wayne's World but I find it describes my working life fairly well. Wish I'd have thought of it first. Maybe if I'd have thought of it first, I could have been somebody! I could have been a contender!

Oops! It happened again.
