My neighbor's 1970ish JD 820, 3 cylinder diesel, has been giving the men trouble who've been trying to use it for a while now. I replaced the fuel filters and the little old-fashioned stroke type pump feeding the injector pump for her. Still wouldn't work more than a few minutes before either dying or just not being able to rev up.

The men mucked with the "screw" in the side of the injector pump and even got another one of these from JD. One of them finally found an outfit in Harrisonburg that rebuilds old injector pumps. He's going to remove the pump for her to take to them. Hopefully, this will fix up her tractor. JD says they no longer stock parts (but apparently had that screw) for old injector pumps.

She'd asked me about mowing her meadow over here (about 25 acres). I estimated that it would take 12 hours minimum, even without any overlap and if I could run at maximum speed in low range (field is too bumpy to do this in many places). Told her I just didn't have the time to do this.

Then she found the Harrisonburg place. Will let you know if it all works out.

Wonder how long JD actually keeps injector pump parts? It's something that normally will go many hours. The one on my 1983 Benz hasn't been touched.
