I'm guessing, the guy that has to pay for it, isn't lauging. And probably wasn't the guy driving.

That sure looked like ugly black tranny oil.

That sucks in so many ways. I cannot imaging breaking down that bad.

One thing I want to add is a powered chute deflector, question is linear actuator or hydraulic, I would think electric would be easier install

That's what I was thinking of getting. The front mount seems like a bunch of work to get it mounted, and I dont have a front PTO, so that option is out anyway. (they do run on a front PTO, right?)

The pull behind blowers would seem to work pretty well, but I'd be slightly concerned about the amount of snow and the tractor compacting the tracks. Is that an issue? I was looking at the 3-pt drive-in-reverse kind. Would be murder on my neck, but might do a better job?
Then having the bucket or plow on the front to pile it up or whatever, to round out the snow removal experience. That would be great. Heck, anything is better than what I have now... a FEL and box blade. :)

I get 12 feet of snow a year. Driving over the snow before the blower does itç—´ job has not been a problem yet...but not a lot of snow yet. I want to keep a bit of a snow pack on the gravel anyway. I do not see it being an issue.

No way I could use a blower that I need to operate in reverse. Neck and back problems preclude that.

The LS uses a mid PTO. The front blower was over $7000 and, in my opinion, a PITA to hook up and then you need to store the sub frame. Plus I wanted full FEL capability to quickly use the blade, or pallet forks.

If money is tight and you get a conventional rear blower, at least get a rear camera.

Can't say that I like going backwards doing anything. But it's a use it or loose it thing. I don't want to grow old, not being able to turn my neck.

Well IT, the reality is we all get old. I am 69 so it seemed a poor decision to buy something that I would need to replace in a few years as my neck got worse. I paid $4k or the 74" pull blower during the summer on sale. The dealer told me it is now selling for over $5k. I could have got a conventional blower for $2.5K so maybe I "wasted" $1.5k...maybe not. Time will tell. I am banking the blower will last the rest of my life. I have less than 4 hours on it so far. I figure 40-50 hours a year of usage. It seems very well built so I doubt there will much maintenance and repair. It does not appear too complicated for an old addle brained man to fix.

The other nice feature of the pull behind over the front blowers are that they are not machine specific. I doubt I will ever replace my new LS, but if I do, the pull blower will work on another tractor. For younger folks who may upgrade their tractors some day (say going from an open station to cab), that is a consideration worth weighing.

Old Man Winter has arrived here in Missouri, four inches of snow and a layer of ice beneath! Slipped and slithered our way to church this morning, our small congregation was miniscule indeed, for many elected to stay in out of the weather.
Heading home down a road under construction was a real adventure, because of the narrow lanes and a severe drop off facing anyone who misjudged. Approaching the highway, we found law enforcement blocking off the entrance ramp, so we were stuck with local roads. We got behind an unfortunate individual who had driven his Dodge Challenger up here from Texas (What was I thinking? was surely going through his head) We spent a good while stuck on a hill.
Finally home, watching the snow continue. Stay safe everyone!
