Is the diesel in your new truck used in any trucks that have air brakes? I have an old international and the donor engine came from a truck with air brakes. I left the compressor on the engine and saved the air tanks. They system charges up the tanks (even have the pressure gauge on the dash) and then the unloader shuts the compressor off. Maybe you could find a compressor that fits your diesel.

Yeah I have an on board air set up on my IH, but it’s a dump truck. Not used when farming.

I have a couple of the York a/c air compressor setups, absolutely love them, from airing up tires to air tools in the field. I have mine set to on at 120 psi and off at 160 psi. Then regulate anything from there that needs it. Kilby was one company that had bolt in kits, but think they have sold out to another company. Air boss also had kits for dodge Cummings setups.

I have seen York air compressors set up in Jeeps, with the air supply routed to a pipe bumper. That gives a fairly good reserve and requires no extra space.

I've also seen small oxygen-type air bottles used. Those are nice in that you have ample air pressure for a a large impact or filling a large tire. That, of course, carries some risk if the bottle isn't mounted safely.

I have a set up on a cj with a aluminum SCBA bottle for a tank. I set it up over ten years ago and use it all the time seems like and has been really reliable.

The big thing to is CO2 bottles to air tires and run tools. It becomes a liquid when compressed and expands something like 535:1

do you have a compressor to do the compressing or do you pay to keep getting it filled up?

You would be surprised on the output of a standard AC compressor on a vehicle... I have a friend that put a pressure switch on the clutch and a 20 foot hose, he can air up his 35" tires from 6psi to 25psi twice as fast as my harbor freight high flow (the biggest one) 12V compressor... this setup is on my short list... he just adds a little bit of ATF on the breather filter he put on the inlet every now and then... I've heard of people using air tools on them... add a small tank for volume and it wouldn't care about much...

Everyone raves about York compressors, but they're huge and expensive...

You have to take them to a vendor that can refill the CO2 , that’s the draw back of that system.

Milwaukee and DEWALT both make small battery powered leaf blowers that work really well for grass and what not on radiators.
Not much help on tires.

18-Volt Compact Blower
I have a Ryobi One+ that looks identical in a different color. Great for supercharging camp fires, ok for blowing dust off stuff & marginal at best for field cleaning radiators. It's high flow, low pressure, but you need higher pressure to get stuff out of the fins. Beats nothing, but only done a third of the job I wanted the couple times I've used it.

I picked up a Vair 400 DC compressor this winter. Nice & quiet compared to the cheap tire inflators. Not to mention way more volume. I have a blow gun for it, but expect it will be slow going, even more so without a tank (yet). No chance to field test it yet on anything but a test topping up of the F350s tires.
