On site fuel storage

Tony,

The Feds will give you back the Federal tax on diesel. There
is a form I fill out each year during tax time that allows me
to do this. I don't know what the form is but my tax software
asks me about the fuel tax so I fill it out. I doubt I save more
than two or three dollars but it is the principal of the thing!

This year will all of the rain I doubt I would get a dollar back...

8-(

I have not found a way to get any state tax back so I guess
NC is the same as VA.... 8-(

But at least we can get the Federale Tax back!

Dan

I had no idea about the federal tax thing. Is that true if you already use off road fuel?

Gary, trust me, it IS nice. When we had our 8-day power outage in the middle of the winter, my wife said to me "I had thought you were nuts for buying that generator and the 300-gallon skid tank of extra diesel, but you weren't!! You were right on target!!"

And who wants to keep driving to the gas station (assuming they have power and can run their pumps) just to fill up 5-gallon cans... over and over and over again???

Get a tank, treat it with "Power Service", and live happily forever after. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob,

Did you mark that statement from your wife on the calendar?!? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tony,

The Federal tax form allowed you to get back the tax you
paid when you bought on road diesel but used it off road. You
only get the Federal fuel tax.

So if you are already buying off road I think you are not paying
the Federale Fuel Tax.

Oh heck, that's easy! Just have something you can drag out and use at the precise moment that your wife feels it's essential! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif She'll think you're a genius, and adore you forever. At least I'm hoping that's the way it will work. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I don't think I even want to know what your wife would consider "essential" when you dragged it out! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
