yanmar, i have recently drove from houston to canton for a yanmar tractor, after i got the first one home the 4wheel drive went out and it leaked every kind of fluid it holds or dont hold, the loader was mounted wrong and a few other problems. they assured me tractors were also completely reconditioned and ready. after driving all the way back my tractor was replaced with a similar model which seemed a little nicer but had same features. last night after using it for first time i found out my front left wheel is not driving, more 4 wheel drive problems. at this point i would not trust anything about what lci has said. it is also my understanding they have a problem with mixing up model numbers on tractors? surely to thier benefit. thier quality control has serious problems and i will inform everyone i can from this point on and welcome any advice on this problem. be aware. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Your experience is truly unfortunate, and again serves to point out the reasons for picking a reputable dealer first, then shopping for the model/size, etc. All the aggravation you have been through, plus the time list and travel expenses would surely have covered us shipping you a tractor.

I am not familiar with "lci". Is it an abbreviation, or is that the name...LCI? Thanks.

gpierce,

There seems to be quite a few tractors (and dealers) from Canton, TX, and many plagued with problems related to the reconditioned ones (especially).

I have recently been involved with two tractors with the black and gold decal that is probably attached to your Bulldog FEL or hood. Both parties were unable to resolve all the repair issues with that company, and neither are satisfied with the outcome before, during and after the warranty period. I only hope that your are more successful and end up with a good tractor. I also hope you remain assertive, stand your ground and get what you paid for...or at minimum your money back.

I understand that this is the third company name change in the last four years, but are still at the same location. They sell these tractors on the premise of good reconditioned "Like New" take the money, and ignore or wait out their customers with warranty claims.
When the heat from complaints becomes overwhelming, they file bankruptcy and change the name of the company and reopen.

Good luck, Mark

Welcome gpierce,
I'm located about half an hour East of LCI. They advertise in the Thrifty Nichol here all the time. I don't understand how they have remained in business this long. I stopped there to look at their stock when I first started searching for a Yanmar. Aside from the rude, unkowledgeable, boy they sent out to watch me, I thought their prices were also out of line. Not being able to find a non-recon dealer halfway close, I opted to drive to OK and purchase a clean, honest tractor from an individual. It's sad that we don't have a decent Yanmar dealer here in East Texas, especially when you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Chinese tractor dealer. Mark is in SE Texas but I'm not sure where, probably a lot closer to Houston than Canton. What Wayne said is true. He shot me a shipping option on another board and it was very reasonable. In fact, if you factor in the tax savings, it was probably cheaper the two trips from Houston to Canton. Hindsight, what an eye opener.

Thanks, Bruce. And if you also factor in the aggravation, disappointment, etc., it is far and away the better option (buying from us) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
