Once again- B2630 vs. B3030

( BCNU- We live on 11 acres of mostly wooded land. I plan to use my existing (and paid for) simplicity for mowing. New tractor will be used for moving mulch, gravel, stone, etc for multiple landscaping projects, excavating for a couple of walkways, maintaining a 450 ft gravel driveway, snow removal, leveling some soon to be cleared areas, and clearing brush and scrub from various wooded areas. Other projects to be determined and as yet, unknown. I expect to buy a box blade and rear blade, and am considering a grapple per Cart99.

Kingoflawns- pto hp is 19.5 per Kubota website. I'd like to hear your reasons for saying the 3030 is worth the extra grand.

Any suggestions/thoughts that can be offered are much appreciated.

With the exception of 5 acres of woods..and a 200 ft gravel drive...the exact same reasons I bought my B3030. IMHO..at times you MAY bog down the 2630...but Ive found that instead of bogging down the 30 HP version..I get into tire slippage...which tells me to go at it easier.

Nothing one can do when they might need extra "ponys"..except wish for them. If I could have bought the same physical SIZE tractor..with a 6ft FEL and more lifting power...Id have gotten a 40 HP engine...but even with the 30 HP..I dont have to run the engine "wide open" all the time to accomplish most tasks...except pushing over trees or grubbing out tree stumps.

( I'm trying to decide between the B2630 and the B3030. Question for those who secured the former- any regrets? Do you wish you purchased the 3030 instead? Any 3030 owners who wish they saved a grand or so by getting the 2630?

Decisions, decisions.

Not I. I took over a month before I layed my cash down...before I made the final decision...and I went with the B3030

I like the sound of the 4 cylinder B3030 more than the 3 cylinder B2630. That may seem trivial but it was a factor in my decision to buy a B3030. I wanted a small tractor that would do anything I would ever need or want to do on my 3.5 acres. After spending $20K for tractor, FEL and MMM I didn't want to wish I had spent a little more and got the the more powerful engine. I wanted to do it once and do it right. I have no regrets. The B3030 is everything I wanted it to be. The B2630 would probably do everything I want it to also, but I never have to wonder if I should have bought the more powerful machine. If you KNOW you will never want more power, then buy the B2630. If you have ANY doubts now is the time to prevent that doubt from coming up in the future.

Quartz, Like I said earlier if you think you need the extra hp then go for the 3030. I have not experianced a shortage of power. Mine will spin the tires if thats what your looking for puching dirt /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif (60" bucket also) I did have the extra $$ for a 3030 but just didnt see the need for it. So far I have not been short on power. If you check out the statistics it does have a slight edge in hydraulics compared to the 3030. 3 cylinder engine runs just as good as the 4 cylinder. As stated by someone earlier that I have to stay on top of mowing is speculation on there part. My friend and me both purchased our tractors at the same time me a 2630 and him a 3030 he loves his and I love mine. Both great tractors. Which ever one you pick you will be happy. Just my 2cents /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif:)

19 hp pto is underpowered for a 72" rfm, thats not speculation mr devildog, its fact!!!

Well be prepared to be amazed and dazzled it pulls a befco 72" RFM no problems. Now my old 1951 JD b was rated at just 24 HP and it bent a 35 hp RB into a horse shoe. But here are the facts Click Here And this is straight from the kubota web page. It recommends for both the 2630 and 3030 the 5 and 6' models. All the same implement that are reccommended for the 3030 will also work just as good with the 2630. With the proper care either tractor will last a long time. I am pretty sure mine will outlast me /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Quartzcreek, Just do your homework and go down to the local dealer and test drive them both and pic which one best suits you and what you need to do with it. I also do not regret the decision on my 2630. Great piece of machinery as compared to my old JD-B and you are still more than welcome to stop by and mow some tall grass with it. I just dont have the time

Devildog- Thanks for the firsthand information; it's appreciated. I have driven both tractors. Just seeking information from those more experienced than myself who actually own either beast!

May not be true at all but my salesman told me that Kubotas dyno around 2 more PTO horsepower than they are rated at. This was after I had already purchased mine so he would have no reason to lie I guess. Like I said this is what he said, I don't have a dyno to know if he was telling the truth or not. Some one on here may know if its true or not.

This site may have some information on tractor specs. Don't know if it will include yours.
